Introduction:
Your favorite FRIENDS are back for another go around
on DVD! This time it's "best of" sets. Join all your
favorites, Monica, Rachel, Ross, Chandler, Joey and
Phoebe and relive those crazy fun episodes you loved.
This time though, you'll be reliving some of FRIENDS'
famous weddings!
Episodes Included / Notable Guest Stars:
The episodes included on this disc are: "The One with
Ross' Wedding" (Airdate: 5/7/98) in which Ross
prepares to marry Emily but says Rachel's name at the
altar instead. "The One in Vegas" (5/20/99) in which
Ross and Rachel wake up married to each other. "The
One with Monica and Chandler's Wedding" (5/17/01) in
which Monica and Chandler get married. "The One with
Phoebe's Wedding" (2/12/04) in which Phoebe marries
Mike.
Some notable guests this season include: Helen
Baxendale as Emily, Sarah Ferguson as herself, Richard
Branson, Pamela Kosh, Elliot Gould, Christina Pickles,
Hugh Laurie, Jennifer Saunders, Morgan Fairchild, Gary
Oldman, Kathleen Turner, and Paul Rudd.
Packaging:
The cover art features a picture from one of the
episodes on the disc. For this cover we have a picture
of Chandler and Monica on their wedding day. It's a
simple cover design for a single disc release. The
back of the box lists the episodes available.
Menu Design and Navigation:
The menu starts off with a shot of the six friends
together (it's a bigger version of what's on the top
of the disc case). It then goes to the main menu
screen which is identical to the cover art. The
FRIENDS theme song loops (no lyrics). Selections are:
Play (All), Episodes, Special Features and Languages.
Video and Audio Quality:
As expected, the video is very good, considering the
show is only about 12 or so years old. Audio is fine
as well and there are no problems to worry about. The
episodes are unedited and have chapter stops.
Special Features:
Not a whole lot is offered. Basic commentary by
Executive Producers Kevin S. Bright, Marta Kauffman
and David Crane on the episodes "The One with Monica
and Chandler's Wedding."
Final Comments:
Once again, it is a good release. As I said, it's
probably a good impulse buy for fans of FRIENDS who
are unable to purchase complete seasons. It was nice
to again hear commentary, which is always a favorite
of mine. Good job on another release, Warner Brothers.
Now if only you could give us your releases earlier
than AFTER the street dates.
