<title>DVD Review: Car 54, Where Are You? - The Complete Second Season</title>
<description>Officers Toody (Joe E. Ross) and Muldoon (Fred Gwynne) are back on the streets in the 53rd precinct in the Bronx in Car 54, Where Are You? - The Complete Second Season! Being somewhat of the original "odd couple" of television (a decade earlier than Felix and Oscar), the two officers (along with the others back at the precinct) put hilarity in stopping crime and always getting into hilarious situations that probably no other police officer ever put themselves in to. The series was created by Nat Hiken for NBC in 1961 and only ended up lasting for two seasons, but like many short-lived series from the decade, it ended up leaving a legacy which is remembered up until this day. In this DVD release, we get the second (and final) season of this hilarious series.
Release Date: April 24th - Shanachie Entertainment.

<title>DVD Review: Meet the Browns - Season 5</title>
<description>Mr. Brown and his family are back yet again in Meet the Brown - Season 5! The title is perhaps a bit misleading, as the series aired with a very weird production schedule (like every other Tyler Perry sitcoms on TBS), but in short, these episodes which aired between mid June 2010 through early September 2010, or roughly (though not precisely) episodes 81-100. These 20 episodes pick up after a heart attack stops the Colonel's wedding (from the last episode of the Season 4 DVD release) and follows everything which happens next in the "life of Brown."
Release Date: April 17th - Lionsgate.

<title>DVD Review: Bob's Burgers - The Complete First Season</title>
<description>It's time to get together to work in the good old fashion family burger business in Bob's Burgers - The Complete First Season. The animated comedy debuted on Fox as a midseason contender in 2011, and though it hasn't been the breakout hit that the network was necessarily hoping for, it has slowly assimilated into a part of the Sunday night lineup, even if it may not necessarily be a permanent one. The series focuses on Bob Belcher, a man who runs a family hamburger business which has one big problem standing in the way: his own family. Though they are supposed to be there to help, daughters Tina and Louise and son Gene are always causing problems in the restaurant, which he is forced to clean up with the assistance of wife Linda. This two disc set, containing every episode from the first season of the series, arrives on DVD just a few weeks after the debut of the second season on Fox.
Release Date: April 17th - 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.

<title>DVD Review: American Dad! - Volume 7</title>
<description>Agent Stan Smith reports for duty once again with American Dad! - Volume 7. Stopping at nothing to stop terrorists (in other words, anybody who disagrees with him), Agent Smith "does his thing" in nineteen more episodes (the packaging doesn't indicate this, which is strange considering that it would be a great selling point, but it is the entire sixth season). So come and join Stan, Francine, Steve, Hayley, Roger, and even Klaus in this three disc set with even more patriotic (kind of) antics!

<title>DVD Review: Bob - The Complete Series</title>
<description>If you ever watched television in the '70s and '80s, you know Bob. From 1972-1978, he was Bob Hartley, the Chicago area psychologist dealing with problems both at work and at home. After that, there was a little bit less Bob until 1982, when he returned as Vermont inn-keeper Dick Loudon in the series Newhart, where he remained for eight years. But perhaps what people remember the least is his return to television in 1992, again on CBS (always returning to CBS as Lucille Ball had done for nearly 30 years), with the series Bob, where he was now cartoonist Bob McKay.
Bob McKay was the creator of a comic book superhero in the '50s called Mad-Dog, and it had the potential to be big. But in the the McCarthy era, his material was considered by a United States Senate sub-committee to be subversive and a contributor to the corruption of the youth. That was the end of Mad-Dog and Bob went on to become a greeting card artist for many years... until his employer, AmCanTranConComCo, revives the superhero and wants to put the comic back into publication. With a little encouragement from his family, including wife Kaye (Carlene Watkins), daughter Trisha (Cynthia Stevenson), and friends, Bob reluctantly gets back into the comic book business which he left forty years ago.
The series was retooled significantly for the second season (which only received an eight episode order, and of those eight episodes, three didn't even air until a special airing on TV Land in 1997), where Bob's company was sold and he was fired. But not all is lost for Bob. Sylvia Schmitt (Betty White), the wife of his former boss, hires Bob as the president of the greeting card company which he left earlier.
Release Date: April 3rd - CBS Home Entertainment.

<title>DVD Review: Family Matters - The Complete Second Season</title>
<description>After almost a two-year wait, Family Matters is continuing on DVD! Warner Home Video has released the complete second season on DVD with all 25 episodes on a nice three-disc set! Of course, Family Matters aired from 1989-1998 on ABC’s popular TGIF block on Friday nights. The sitcom is a spin-off of the ABC series Perfect Strangers (1986-1993), which had Harriette as the elevator operator at the Chicago Chronicle (where Larry and Balki worked). This spin-off focuses on her family, the Winslow’s. The Winslow family consists of Harriette’s husband Carl, who is a police officer, and their kids Eddie, Laura and Judy. Also living with them are Harriette’s sister Rachel and her infant son Richie, along with Carl’s mother.
But the major breakout star of this show was friend and neighbor Steve Urkel! Get your geek on with Steve Urkel, the ultimate nerd and annoying neighbor of Carl and Harriette Winslow and their multigenerational Chicago clan. Urkel's irrepressible spirit, not-so-smooth moves, and undying love for Laura Winslow cause the family constant aggravation and occasional delight. And whether he's burning down the café where he works, sharking the local pool hall, or proving the existence of Santa, the Urkman's got what it takes to turn any situation into memorable family fun. What was hilarious and heart-warming then is classic comedy now!
Release Date: February 14th - Warner Home Video.

<title>DVD Review: Designing Women - The Complete Sixth Season</title>
<description>The time has come for a little more comedy and interior decorating with Designing Women - The Complete Sixth Season! Julia (Dixie Carter), Mary Jo (Annie Potts), Anthony (Meshach Taylor) and Bernice (Alice Ghostley) are back in the 1991-1992 season of the landmark CBS sitcom, but not everything is the same this season. Delta Burke, who played the much beloved character Suzanne, is gone from the cast, only to be briefly mentioned a few times as having moved to Japan. Also, Jean Smart's character Charlene makes a somewhat unceremonious departure as well, appearing only in the season premiere, in which she mentions that she will be taking a trip to England to meet the queen, never to reappear afterwards. But both Suzanne and Charlene are replaced with very similar characters, with Suzanne being replaced with Julia and Suzanne's extremely obnoxious (by her own admission) cousin, Allison Sugarbaker (Julia Duffy). Meanwhile, in the season premiere, Charlene's sister, Carlene (Jan Hooks) is introduced as she drops in to Atlanta fresh out of her divorce, and much like her similarly named sister, she is a bit naive--perhaps much more so than Charlene. All of these changes set the stage for the sixth season of the iconic series, which essentially reinvents the series as we all knew it.
Release Date: April 3rd - Shout! Factory.

<title>DVD Review: My Living Doll - The Official Collection: Volume One</title>
<description>In the 1980s, the TV series Small Wonder was on the air, a series created by Howard Leeds about a family living with a girl who was actually a robot, pretending (to the rest of the world) like she was a real human being. But this was far from the first series with a premise, and not even the first one involving Howard Leeds. In 1964, following the success of the series My Favorite Martian, CBS turned to producer Jack Chertok to create something new. And out of this request came My Living Doll, television's original series about a "living android."
The series starred Bob Cummings, who had already made a name for himself in television years earlier as the star of his own series, The Bob Cummings Show, as Dr. Bob McDonald, a psychiatrist for the government space program (yes, much like Dr. Bellows on I Dream of Jeannie!). Things change quickly for Bob when he meets the mysterious woman wrapped in nothing but a bath towel, who turns out to be a robot named Rhoda (played by Julie Newmar, pre-Catwoman). Meeting this new woman turns out to be much more than he anticipated, though. Now, he has the responsibility of training her to function just as any human would, but at the same time, keeping Rhoda's secret from the rest of the world... which certainly isn't easy with his sister and neighbor Peter constantly in the way!
The series only ran for one season on CBS before being canceled. The series didn't quite have the ratings necessary to move ahead, and that matter was only complicated when star Bob Cummings asked to be released from his contract due to those low-ratings before the first season even ended. With only one season of episodes produced, the series simply wasn't viable enough to be re-air in syndication, despite efforts to make that happen. As the years passed by and the series went unaired, episodes simply became "lost," with even the copyright owner not knowing where they can be found. But now, the "lost" status of the series changes a bit, as the series debuts on DVD, marking the first opportunity for most people to even see the series. With that, we have eleven of the twenty six episodes presented in MPI's release of My Living Doll - The Official Collection: Volume One. Release Date: March 20th - MPI Home Video.

<title>DVD Review: Fan Favorites: The Best of The Honeymooners (Classic 39 Episodes)</title>
<description>Jackie Gleason, Art Carney, Audrey Meadows, and Joyce Randolph return to DVD once again with eight favorite episodes from the "classic 39" episodes of The Honeymooners, as selected by fans. The single-disc release from CBS Home Entertainment has eight of the episodes from the only season of the series (as a separate entity, anyway). The characters which we are all familiar with were conceived a few years earlier as skits on The Jackie Gleason Show, and the popularity of the characters--Ralph, the working-class bus driver, wife Alice, his friend Ed Norton, and Ed's wife Trixie--lead to the creation of the classic series in the 1955-1956 TV season. While the series was loved by many, star and creator Jackie Gleason was not really a fan of the limitations and demands created by needing to create exactly 39 episodes lasting exactly 25 minutes (no more and no less) every week and returned the characters back to their familiar home on his variety show, which allowed much more flexibility (and opportunities to "repurpose" scripts, as he often did). Despite that, the "classic 39" episodes are the ones that linger most strongly in the eyes of the fans and are the most memorable of all of the different eras of The Honeymooners (which continued in different forms all the way in to the 70s). Now, CBS Home Entertainment has complied eight "favorites" of these classic episodes into a value-priced single disc collection.
Release Date: March 6th - CBS Home Entertainment.

But this is no serious drama about Germany during the war. Instead, the series follows the hilarity of Colonel Hogan and his fellow Allied prisoners always plotting and scheming to undermine the Germans from within.

<title>Blu-ray Review: Weeds - Season Seven</title>
<description>The Botwin family is back, and ready for a completely new part of life in Weeds - Season Seven. The Showtime series has evolved significantly from the first season where we met Nancy Botwin (Mary-Louise Parker), the suburban drug dealer. Now, the series has fast-forward yet another three years, picking up where it left off at the end of the sixth season. For those unfamiliar with the sixth season, it ended with Nancy finally getting caught for her drug dealing activities, but it wasn't until the beginning of this season where we were able to find out what happened after being caught.
As it turns out, Nancy ended up going to prison while her family moved to Amsterdam. But now, she is up for parole and the family has returned to the United States for Nancy to start her brand new life in New York City, where she will now be able to live the perfect life with no drama and staying on the straight and narrow.
But if you know Weeds, you know it just isn't going to work out like that, and rekindling old relationships with old friends is going to bring back more drama, and life is going to continue to get even more complicated for the entire Botwin family in Weeds - Season Seven, now available on DVD and Blu-ray Disc (the latter which we received for review) from Lionsgate.

<title>DVD Review: They Came From Outer Space - The Complete Television Series</title>
<description>If any series has the potential to make it to TV, it also has the potential to make it to DVD. Timeless Media Group has proven that with their release of They Came From Outer Space - The Complete Television Series, a four-disc set that brings a series that most people probably don't remember (or have ever even seen) from the 1990-1991 season to DVD. The comedy series stars Dean Cameron and Stuart Fratkin as Bo and Abe, two twin brothers with parents have arranged for them to get a quality education at a foreign university, Cambridge University. But it isn't as simple as it sounds. Abe and Bo don't even make it to Cambridge, and decide that they would rather just spend their time cruising through California, while their parents believe that they are at Cambridge studying. Oh, and did I mention that when I refer to Cambridge as a "foreign" university, I don't just mean that Bo and Abe are from other countries, but rather, they came from... well, outer space? That is the premise in this bizarre, quirky, but fun series that Universal created through their MTE Television division that aired in syndication in the early 90s.

<title>DVD Review: Here's Lucy - Season Five</title>
<description>Lucy (Lucille Ball), daughter Kim (real-life daughter Lucie Arnaz), and Lucy's brother-in-law Harry (Gale Gordon) return yet again for the fifth season of Here's Lucy on DVD! In the next-to-last season of Lucy's last major series, we get to follow Lucy and Harry as they continue to make it through each and every day at Carter's Unique Employment agency, where they are joined by some surprise guests every now and then. The fifth season, though, starts out with a little problem as Lucy breaks her leg in a skiing accident (an accident that happened in real-life and was written into the series), and we get to see much more of her domestic side as she is home bound and in a wheelchair for roughly the first third of the season. Still, we get to see more classic comedy in the fifth season of Here's Lucy.
Release Date: February 28th - MPI Home Video.

<title>DVD Review: Hazel - The Complete Second Season</title>
<description>Shirley Booth is "cleaning up" on DVD with the return of the classic TV series Hazel! After a long wait (over five years to be exact), Shout! Factory has picked up the rights to the classic series about the housekeeper who has a command over the house in a four disc set, containing all 32 episodes from the 1962-1963 of the season. The season also transitions to color this season (although there was a promotional episode in the first season that was broadcast in color).
The series, based upon a series of original cartoons in The Saturday Evening Post, is about a maid who runs the household for George and Dorothy Baxter (Done DeFore and Whitney Blake), and their son Harold (Bobby Buntrock). The series focuses on the family type relationship that Hazel has with her employer, with often results in battles between Hazel and her boss. But in the end, Hazel is usually the one that is right and always wins.
Release Date: February 21st - Shout! Factory.

<title>DVD Review: The Donna Reed Show - Season Four: The Lost Episodes</title>
<description>One of America's leading ladies of television is back on DVD! After some issues that a previous studio had with releasing The Donna Reed Show, the series is back for another season on DVD, from a new studio. This time, MPI brings the fourth season to DVD in a five disc set. But the mere fact that the episodes are on DVD isn't exactly why this set is such a big deal. The 39 episodes seen in this set are considered to be lost episodes, having not been aired on TV in decades. That means that most people who remember watching the series in reruns on Nick at Nite in the '80s and '90s will not remember the episodes on this set, as they never aired them. In fact, they have been withheld completely from all syndicated runs for at least the past few decades, simply because the series was deemed to have too many episodes than what was necessary for syndication.
The fourth season of the series takes on somewhat of a different tone than the previous seasons, with a few episodes taking on a more serious tone and not necessarily the "laugh every 30 second" sitcom model. The season is also a more "musical" season, introducing rock-and-roll into the sitcom, including the incredibly famous (to this day) "Johnny Angel" by Shelley Fabares. And of course, we do get to follow the entire Stone family through their everyday adventures in all (well, nearly all, you'll find out why that is in the episodes section) of the episodes of this season. So come and join one of America's favorite mothers for 39 episodes in Donna Reed - Season Four: The Lost Episodes!
Release Date: December 20th - MPI Home Video.

<title>DVD Review: Dennis the Menace - The Final Season (Season Four)</title>
<description>Hey Mr. Wilson! America's first "bad boy" of television, Dennis Mitchell, is back for the final 38 episodes of the 1959-1963 TV series in a five disc set. Based upon the classic Hank Ketcham comic strip, which continues to run in newspapers all over the nation even these days, the series follows the daily adventures in the life of Dennis (Jay North), his family, and his neighbors, the Wilsons. There is one slight change in this season, though. Following the death of Joseph Kearns in the middle of the third season, George Wilson is no longer the neighbor, and in his place is John Wilson (Gale Gordon), a role that ended up taking him directly into his role on The Lucy Show a season later. The 38 episodes on this set give us our last look at the Mitchells and Wilsons together in one series.
Release Date: January 10th - Shout! Factory.
