Question If It Aint Broke, Fix It Anyway...?

I feel that Mork And Mindy was just fine the first season, but for some reason, the producers (and maybe the network) decided to tinker with it, change the cast and even the feel of the show.

It was never the same after that. Why on earth would you make changes to a breakout hit. If I were the producers, I'd keep pumping out more of the same and raking the money in.

Do you guys feel that M&M went downhill after the first season...?

I do. They thought they could get younger viewers if they got rid of the dad and the grandma and brought in some younger characters. However, the dad and grandma provided Mork and Mindy with some balance, sort of like Mr. and Mrs. C did on "Happy Days". Plus, they moved it to Sunday, opposite "Archie Bunker's Place."

They must have been some major changes if the show could not compete with Archie Bunkers Place.

And unfortunately, the show never recovered creatively or ratings-wise. If I were planning on getting DVDs, I'd just get season one and remember it that way.

PLus it was the first season of Archie Bunkers Place so Mork and Mindy was not going to compete. Plus i think %75 of America would have rather watched Archie than Mork.

The season where Mork and Mindy get married was the worst. I can't remember, did they have a child that same season?
