"Caroline In the City" alumna Lea Thompson will appear on three upcoming episodes of "Ed" as Ed's ex-wife. One critic, however, noted that Melissa Errico played Ed's ex-wife before, and that Janeane Garofalo appeared in the same role in brief flashbacks on the first episode of the series. "If we can accept two Darrins on 'Bewitched,' " the Newark, N.J. Star-Ledger wrote, "we as a country can probably handle this."

Tonight's episode (1/9/04) was the first one with Lea Thomspon as Ed's ex-wife Liz. It was pretty good; Ed helped Liz with her real estate investment after Carol encouraged him to, but now it looks like the old passion between Ed and Liz is being reignited!
I don't like where this is headed. . . . And do we have to put up with the insufferable Jim Gaffigan again??

While Ed may have its problems, it's still far ahead of a lot of other shows that remain on the air. I like the new night....now my wife and I can watch it together instead of taping it and....oh, it doesn't matter. I love Carol....my wife doesn't mind. She likes Grissom from CSI.

Agreed. "Ed" is far ahead of other shows, and I certainly didn't intend to imply otherwise. ![]() |

BTW, has anyone ever seen Jim Gaffigan do his stand-up comedy act? I haven't but a few friends of mine who have seen it say he is very good.
My wife was watching That 70's SHow and said "Hey, he looks like the guy on Ed". I knew it was Gaffigan but I said to her, "He looks nothing like him". ![]() |
