why was there 2 episodes of aunt ethal? and they were almost alike has anyone else noticed that?

They were basically the same except the second one done was a longer version and dealt with finding a man for Aunt Ethel....the earlier one was abbreviated and didn't bring that part of the story into it.

Wasn't the first Aunt Ethel episode part of the Jackie Gleason show?

Yes, BOTH Aunt Ethel episodes were part of The Jackie Gleason Show. The first one was on 3/14/53 and the longer one on 6/5/54.
