Pav, what about the rest of the week? Can you tell me where you got the schedule from? Thanks, I'd appreciate it.

The rest of the week is the same as it is now, or I would have listed the changes.

Wow, it's cool they're airing the primetime soaps in primetime, even if it's only on Saturdays.

BTW, do you know if they're going to be having any marathons for Christmas this year? They usually air something since the ABC shows are pre-empted, which is why I'm wondering.

I'm not sure about Christmas. But I am so glad you made me check December! Because there are some minor weekday changes starting December 29, that will be in effect for January as well. So no wonder I thought something was missing. I edited the first post with the December 29 changes.

Hmm. I wonder why they're airing three hours of Ryan's Hope per day? Back in April, they announced they were going back to the beginning and one of the key factors in the decision was supposed to be low ratings, so I definitely wasn't expecting any additional airings for RH.

I know this probably isn't going to happen, but I would love if one of the hour blocks was comprised of episodes from December 1981 and onward. Back when they went to the beginning, they said they would be giving viewers 'flash-forwards' to the eighties. However, I somehow doubt they'll ever actually do that... Oh well. It's probably just going to be the same episodes three times a day. It's still great since it'll give viewers another chance to catch the episodes.

I wonder if their contract for The Colbys is up, since it stops airing the week before the beginning of 2004 and since all the reruns which were originally on SOAPnet in 2000 have left (with the exception of Knots Landing and Ryan's Hope)?

they need to start showing some older stuff. i mean, ryans hope is alright, but i never watched past the first episode when it first aired.
other than dallas, i have no use for the primetime shows on their schedule.
all the stuff they are showing is too new. even starting another world in the mid'80's is a crock (never watched it either so i don't now).
what they need to do is start with general hospital from the far reaches of the past and start with the earliest date possible and keep going. that is better than the same episodes of the same stuff repeated over and over as they have always done.
i would give up watching just about anything on tv the watch that.
point to make here: if they can take a show that didn't make it past a few years like ryans hope and keep giving it CPR, then a major show like general hospital should do even better.
even if it didn't, at least give it a chance.

Just a hunch on my part, but maybe the 2pm airings of RH are holders for Dark Shadows? Unless SOAPnet goes back to Dec 1981 for the 2pm airings, I don't see a need to air the same two episodes 2 more times (one for each episode).

And just to remind everyone, I have NO clue if DS is coming to SOAPnet. Just a hunch of mine, because when Knots Landing doubled up a few months back, it was just a holder for Dallas.

I also think it may be a holder because it doesn't make sense to air RH at 12pm and then just an hour later at 2pm. Unless, like I said, the 2pm airings are a different rotation, which seems possible.

Pav, do you know anything about the RH eps that will air in the 2pm slots?

Yes, very interesting. It's odd that Ryan's Hope will be airing 2-3pm, when it airs 12-1pm. That is too close to each other. I bet they are planning on adding a new show in one of those slots, like TVJunkie101 said.

And no, I do not have episode info for January, so I can't tell which episodes are airing in that 2 PM hour.

Excuse me, but RH ran for 14 years: July 7, 1976 to January 13, 1989. SoapNet only airs 1976 to Dec. 1981 though. Do some research before you knock something.

i didn't knock anything. i just said "a few years". there is no numerical total to what they word "few" means.
and no, i did not know they were only airing five years worth of their tapes.
all i mean is that i have read on here that they started back at the begining a time or two on soapnet. if they want to keep repeating the same stuff that is dumb when there is tons of stuff to show that they haven't. especially when they show the same stuff once or twice a day, then on the weekend, and then start over again. with all that repeat mess, they could show something else nobody has ever seen like what i suggested.
don't be so defensive.

I saw this posted on another board. It seems like Port Charles will be airing in the noon time slot beginning December 29:

Quote:
(from SoapsInDepth.com)

PORT CHARLES Lives On!
You read it first at SoapsInDepth.com! SOAPnet is bringing PORT CHARLES, which signed off on October 3, back to television —in reruns, which will pick up with the half-hour sudser's first 12-week "book," titled Fate (which originally aired in December 2000). "We're proud to add PORT CHARLES to our stable of classic soaps, such as RYAN'S HOPE and ANOTHER WORLD, which have a strong, loyal base of fans," says Deborah Blackwell, SOAPnet's general manager.

PC premiered in 1997 as a spin-off of GENERAL HOSPITAL. The SOAPnet rebroadcasts will air two-at-a-time on weekdays at noon EST, starting Monday, December 29.

I don't see it listed, but the grid I have might be outdated. It makes sense too, since Ryan's Hope was listed for noon and then again at 2pm. So Port Charles is coming--I'll try to find out more, but that source seems reliable and true.
