No, Steve and Laura got engaged in the next to last episode "Pop Goes the Question" both Steve and Stefan proposed to Laura, and she chose Steve. That was the end for Stefan. In the two-part finale, Steve left to go into the space, and he got trapped on the satellite, but finally at the end of the two-parter came back. This was MEANT to be a SEASON Finale, but CBS cancelled the series a few months later. If the 10th season happened, it WOULD have featured the wedding of Laura and Steve, but they did not get married, just engaged.

Well the ratings plummeted after it moved from ABC to CBS in 1997. So, I can partly see why it was cancelled, but they deserved a finale.
