Okay.. for some reason, I cant hear anything on my computer. Like, if I put a CD in, it's playing, but nothing is being heard. if I download something, nothing is being heard, my instant messenger ringy things arent working either. Im guessing i accidentally pressed mute on something or something like that.
The speakers are plugged in cuz the light up there is on. Could anyone give me any things to check or anything, because I really wanna be able to hear stuff.

That happened to me once. The computer didn't recognize the speakers, but they were plugged in. I did a virus scan and a spyware scan, defrag, and scandisk. Now it works and it has been fine ever since.
Go to your control panel and find Sounds, speech and Audio devices then from there click on sounds and audio devices click the hardware tab and click on each individual item and see if they are working properly.

try plug in headphones as well, and make sure the speakers are plugged in still (easy to kick one of those little cables out)
try those suggestions first, but did you install anything or change anything around the time it stopped working? and What OS is it?
