Default Abuse of the Use of This Board

There was a time when TJ actually asked the users of the boards to use common courtesy posting subjects. He asked us to please not post more than a certain amount of subject posts in any given day. He was telling this to all board users. I can understand that he would grow weary of having to control the users as if they were children. He, like all of us, probably hopes that common courtesy will kick in of it's own accord without constant reminders having to be posted about it.

M8--You could have posted all of your subject posts on one thread today, rather than having thrown this distasteful display of "Mine, mine, mine! My board! This is my board!" I hope you come to realize that you have embarrassed yourself, and will apologize for having abused the board as you have. If so, please don't make a new post in which to write your apology in. You've done enough damage for one day.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with this pet peeve. It reminds me of a similar time months ago when someone posted multiple topics about George Bush with essentially the same message: he's too stupid to be President among other negative things. I'm not bashing that person's opinion (over the past few months I have grown to dislike Bush and his policies) or anything like that. I actually agree (I didn't agree then but I do now) with that person's opinion but I disagreed with that fact that the person made a gazillion topics about the same thing. You can make posts stating your opinion, you have the right to do that. But if you're going to make posts with essentially the same message, keep it in one thread instead of making numerous and numerous threads that you could have kept in one topic. It takes up too much space and clutters the board.

Red face overkill

I hope I wasn't doing the same thing this morning, I posted a number of different topics that revolved around the war, terrorism, Bush's policies, etc. It was a little more that just several threads about one topic (i.e., gun rights), but interrelated topics having something in common.

You're welcome Bandito. We all here disagree on a lot of things but we try to pull together on board protocol if possible. I see, this morning, that M8 has chosen to continue with his posting threads rather than posts. Two more new threads on the same subject as yesterday. Both new threads could have been added as posts to any of the new threads he posted yesterday. One of the new theads has another abusive side-trip. It has a poll which has two replies provided. One is an answer the other is useless sarcasm. M8 seems to be hell bound to alienate all other board users.

And that relates to your abuse of the board in what way?? That reply of mine was a response to you telling me to leave the board if I didn't like your dead people galore posts. My request to you to not post threads is a common rule on the board. It isn't my personal request, although, I am indeed pointing it out to you and the other members. If you some how think that my no holds barred PM to you negates my right to ask you to follow the well accepted protocol on the board, you are quite incorrect; not to mention, dodging the issue. When I thought about what reply, if any, you might have to my request I had a hunch that you would do exactly what you have done. You've tried to turn the subject inside out so as not to take any responsibility for what you are doing on the board.

M8, all we ask of you is to follow board protocol, like everyone else. We aren't trying to silence you. Everything you posted in separate threads could have been grouped in one subject thread for all to consider.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's not a cake-walk for TJ to keep these boards running smoothly. Common courtesy is appreciated by all parties involved.

You know, you're all wasting your time bitching about M8. Just ignore him and he and his threads will drop to the bottom of the page.
