Default Was Star Trek TOS's Grace Lee Whitney ever on Twilight Zone?

I remember she was referred to in Allan Asherman's Star Trek book as being on Twilight Zone. The edition of his book was written back in '79 or '80. There was only the original TZ then. It said the TZ ep she appeared in was unknown. Anyone know what ep if any that was?

PS Whitney played Yoeman Janice Rand on the original Star Trek.

Nope (at least imdb.com doesn't list her, and I don't know any differently), but she was in an "Outer Limits" episode though. I'm in a hurry right now, but I think they gave the title as "The Contolled Experiment."

Yeah, Asherman's book mentioned her on OL. I saw Ms. Whitney in that OL ep myself, anyway. Carroll O'Connor (Archie Bunker, of course) was also in theat same OL ep. All I and everyone watching with me did was laugh at him every split second he was on camera. They should digitally edit O'Connor out of that OL and put in someone we can take seriously.

Don't take this the wrong way, jmo and all that, but why laugh at Carroll? Yeah, Archie Bunker is funny, but it sounds to me like you're typecasting Carroll. Archie Bunker= All in the Family, Archie Bunker's Place. Carroll O'Connor=various roles

Well Jenny, there are some who feel comic actors are best left out of drama. It hurts credibility of drama to see them in it. Some do feel that way.

Carroll O'Connor was a dramatic actor BEFORE anyone knew him as "Archie Bunker". Also, he appeared successfully in In the Heat of the Night after his stint on AITF and audiences had no problem accepting him in that drama.

Other actors (e.g., Tom Hanks, Robin Williams) who first gained fame in comedic roles succeeded in dramas.

TV Gen, I know O'Connor was a dramatic actor before AIF but Archie totally wrecked his dramatic credibility beyond any repair. One reviewer watchng O'Connor in ITHOTN early on in the series run commented how being known so much as Bunker might get sharply in the way of anyone excepting him as a southern police chief and taking it seriously. The drama show was always unintentionally funny with O"Connor in the lead (triply so with that hokey southern accent), bvut thanks to all his AIF fans the show was a hit. That reviewer was right! Another late actor with O'Connor's problem in a dramatic show was Walter Mathau. I saw Mathau in a movie where he plays a lawyer who defends a Nazi-prisoner and boy was this movie unintentionally sidesplitting. I think Mathau and O'Connor should both be edited out of any serious they did (Warning Shot, The Laughing Policeman, ect.) and accepted dramatic actors computer generated into their stead.

That's just your opinion though, and you said your friends was laughing, too. That's just a select few opinions. Others might feel differently than you do.......
