Default Craziness..

Ok today me and my mom got a new dog. Hes a 8 month old karin (sp?) terrier and hes freaking nuts. My mom said "Oh we'll take him anyways, I can calm him down." I dont know how in the hell shes gonna do that though. I have another 7 year old jack russell and he keeps trying to jump on her and he bites her and stuff. Im freakin scared to go back dowstairs cause they attack each other so much. Does anyone know how long it takes two dogs to get used to each other?

Feed, walk, and everything else together after a few weeks or months they'll be ok together,I have a Rock and a Pit and when I first got em' I couldn't get them to stop fighting until I used that method,it's actually dog's way of marking their territory, but once you show them that they have to share it they'll be kool

I have 4 dogs, and one of them, Tika, is the biggest bitch. Shes small and she hates Nutmeg my golden/shepherd. Nutmeg is the nicest of them all and all she wants to do is play. Theres nothing we can do about it- since Nutmeg tries to be friendly, nothing bad ever seems to happen. But why dont you try putting both your dogs on a leash and introduce them?

o0o0o I forgot- your jack probably doesnt like him because hes jealous! So try and give some extra attention to him and then see what happens. Its like when you have a new baby and their older sibling doesnt like him.

Well i just brought in a 4 month old Daushound who is very wild and hyper. And my 10 year old Spaniel Max does not like him very much, What i did was bought Azreal (I named the puppy that) a crate. Try getting your new puppy a crate and crate train him, when he starts getting wild, put him in the crate. It might work. Hope that helps.

I think it's harder for two dogs to get along with each other when there's a larger gap between their ages. Your puppy will probably mature as he grows older. Take my dog for example. When we first got him he was 2 months and a total nut. Now he's two years old and has matured a great deal. He's actually lying by my feet right now. But then when we go over to my uncle's...he has a dog who's about 11 or 12 I think, and its then when Hunter (my dog) gets excited. Its just when two dogs aren't used to each other. BTW, are you sure that your puppy is attacking your jack russel or is he just trying to play? I wouldn't separate them, but make them do extra things together. They'll get used to each other eventually. Maybe you should try bringing the puppy to a training school or something, lol. Be firm on him. Don't let him get away with things. If he does something bad, scold him. Get it through to him that he's not allowed to be doing those things.

Oh, when my uncle's dog was a puppy she was the wildest thing. She (the dog) was running around the living room and my uncle threw his sandal at her and accidentally broke her leg! I'm not saying you should go THAT far punishing your dog, because obviously you shouldn't, but my uncles dog sure calmed down after that!

Im not sure, its just hes really rough on her and she doesnt fight back. She bit at him a few times and he stopped for a little bit. I just hope they get used to each other better soon.

My two dogs got used to each other fairly quick...if course, it probably helps that they knew each other before they lived in the same house.
