Think about it this way: they already had trouble paying the rent for a 2 bedroom apartment (I assume this was going on before Jack came), how could they even think about affording a three bedroom apartment? If only two of them moved into a two bedroom apartment, they wouldn't have been able to pay the rent. So I suppose they came to the conclusion that the only way things would work out would be by getting a two bedroom apartment that three people could pay for.

As for Eleanor, maybe she had first dibs on the room. Maybe they chose randomly. Who knows.

Maybe I dreamed this, but didn't Elenor pay a larger share of the rent? Maybe I just came up with that explanation myself a long time ago so that I could make sense of her getting her own room. Afterall, the person who would pay more should get their own room.

Yeah, I don't think Eleanor was said to have paid more. I just came up with that myself because I, too, have thought it was a weird setup.

*JoyceDeWittIsMyAngel*, did you change your name too?! I'll never be up to snuff with SO! At least by the time I came back signatures were back again. I don't use them, but I know they are important to a lot of people. Plus I like seeing them. I wouldn't have realized you changed your name without seeing it!
