Default Does any Sanford and Son fans see Lamont as a Dummy? I didn't and maybe that's why I.

never really laughed at the Dummy jokes because I didn't understand them. Lamont didn't give off a dummy vibe to me. Grady did but not Lamont. But can someone give me their reason they think Fred called Lamont Dummy? And then maybe the Dummy jokes will be more understandable.

I didn't see Lamont as a dummy either, but I laughed when Fred called him that at times because of the way Fred said it.

Well maybe that's why I never laughed because Lamont didn;'t he dummy role. Now if J.J played Fred's Son-that dummy joke would have blown me away.

Lamont was no dummy but, I think Fred called him that because the real dummy was him (Fred) and he was frustrated about being the real dummy. In a way he wanted someone else to pay for his own mistakes.

I don't see Lamont as a dummy, but the dummy jokes are still funny.

Default To Fred, he was a dummy.

Lamont's character of the straight man to Fred's comedy was played beautifully. Perhaps since Lamont didn't go for Fred's foolish shenanigans, Fred thought he was dumb. Hence the name, Dummy.

how about when lamont tried to sell the pot with the prince of wales feathers. He got a phone number for Mcdonalds and a check that is still bouncing. Any smart businessman would've checked the phone number first..then called the bank to see if the funds where available before setting out any money. How about when lamont actually thought he was going to be a movie star and ended up in jail...big dummy. Fred was no angel but he always found a way to get himself out of trouble...and an occasional lucky streak didn't hurt either..lamont never had a run of good luck. Even when he purchased that convertible car he got taken..did you notice the paint job on the klunker.*l*
