There were quite a few. here are some:
1. Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up (WTRMPS) 2. To Serve Man (TSM) 3. The Gift (TG) 4. Black Leather Jackets ( BL J) 5. A Stopover in a Quiet Town (ASIAQT) 6. Hocus Pocus and Frisby (HPAF) 7. Mr. Dingle the Strong (MDTS) 8. The Fugitive (TF) 9. The Fear (TF) My fav is choice 1.Will the Real Matian: this has such great ambience, and the aliens were cool to me. I love the diner, and the plot, the suspence is great. ( Its funny how 8 and 9 have same initials) Mr Z

I have to choose just one? I can't do that, seriously, I can't do that.
1. Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up (WTRMPS)- Ah, I love this ep!!!!! 2. To Serve Man (TSM)- Ditto. 3. The Gift (TG)- I'm having a brainfart, I'll have to look it up and see what the description is. 4. Black Leather Jackets ( BL J)- Eh, it was good, but it doesn't rank up there with WTRMPS or TSM. 5. A Stopover in a Quiet Town (ASIAQT)- Love this ep, too. 6. Hocus Pocus and Frisby (HPAF)- Prob. my least fave. on the list. 7. Mr. Dingle the Strong (MDTS)- Another goodie. 8. The Fugitive (TF)- I'm having a brainfart right now, can't remember how this ep. went. 9. The Fear (TF)- It was pretty good, but again, can't rank it with the others I said I really loved and enjoyed. |

i liked the cops. not a fav of mine. i haven't seen two of the ones listed and don't really like the rest much. i like to serve man but, after seeing it a million times, it lost it's effect on me.

Of all the great eps, 2 leap to mind as the most indellible and enjoyable:
"To Serve Man", IMO, is the quintessential alien plot (if you favor malevolent, rather than benevolent, aliens). Yes, many of us have seen it a billion times (like so many other episodes) and because I'm willing to do so, this episode has earned my vote. - or - "The Monsters are Due on Maple Street" offers an interesting perspective on human behavior as witnessed by an outsider. OK, so this is another alien story where the aliens have evil intent. What makes it unique (for its day) is that it shows so effectively how man's most destructive weapons are innate rather than hand-made. The aliens need do little more than create the impetus for human nature to take over and do the "dirty work" for them. P.S. - The remake of this episode [on "The New TZ"] was not nearly so subtle and cast the US government/military in the role of the aliens.

Is it better for the government to be tyrannical, or alien conquerors? Food for thought.

To Serve Man and MADOMS are 2 classic TZs, I nvr saw the remake of MADOMS, prob better that I did not
![]() TSM is an excelllent piece of literature, nicely presented, visually stunning IMHO, however after watching it over and over, it loses its shock ending, but that does not take away from it being a great ep ![]() I think eps like MADOMS, Obsolete Man, Deaths Head Rvstd, Hes Alive r great tools for the class room, important commentary there Long Live TZ |

If "And When The Sky Was Opened" is considered an alien ep (as I do personally), then that's my favorite. No aliens actually appear in the episode, but I've always figured aliens were behind the mysterious phenomena that occur in it. Of course, other interpretations are possible.
It's not really clear who or what the "people" in "Eye Of The Beholder" are, either. I suppose that makes my favorite indisputable alien ep "The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street." Zone1, I like the nine you listed in roughly this order: 1)"Will The Real Martian Please Stand Up?"--sort of a lighter version of the basic premise of MADOMS. 2)"To Serve Man" 3)"The Fugitive"--this is about a girl named Jenny and her very special elderly friend, who can do a lot of things most people can't do. 4)"Mr. Dingle The Strong"--I just recently started liking this one. I must like Burgess a lot more than when I first saw this. 5)"Hocus-Pocus and Frisby"--Slow-moving, but I enjoyed it. I can't see this emoticon without thinking of that episode. 6)"The Fear"--Not one of my favorites. 7)"Black Leather Jackets" 8)"The Gift"--A handsome alien lands in Mexico to befriend a little boy who is the only Earthling who has less acting ability than he does. ![]() Oh, I haven't seen "Stopover In A Quiet Town" yet. |

An avatar? That's an idea. Offhand, I don't think I know how to get one, though.

Avatars are quite easy to do. I hope I won't get anybody mixed up here, if I do, just let me know. Okay, find a pic. Save it to your computer. The size of the pic has to be 150 by 150, so if the pic is bigger than that, just go into a program (for instance I have MGI Photosuite 8.1) and it lets me shrink pics there. When you have your 150 by 150 pic, go to User CP at the top of the screen. Go to Edit Options. Scroll down til you see the Avatar part. Click 'Change Avatar' You can either choose some of the avatars TJ has loaded in, or scroll down and get to the upload pic from your computer section. Click Browse and find the pic file, if you do this right, the link will pop in. Click Submit Modifications and it ought to work.
If anybody doesn't have a program to shrink pics up, just post the pic here and I'll shrink it up for you in my program. |
