Default Does anyone beside me refuse to record Good Times episodes with Penny?

I tried but i just can't keep Good Times episodes with Penny. She just urkes me too much. She had toomany speaking parts to be a child. It looks like they were trying to revolve the show around her. I see why writers for this show couldn't get hired no where else. So the 5th season is pretty much UNRECORDABLE. Anyone else feel this way?

Default John Amos

John Amos was the only good part of this show.

When he left I quit watching.

I definitely disagree. I guess I'm in the minority but I enjoyed Good Times throughout its' entire run and felt the Penny episodes gave Willona's character more depth and Ja'net Dubois more to do with the character. I thought episodes involving Penny's abusive mother were among the best, at least for that season.

You are not alone. I thought Penny was a good
addition as well. I loved seeing Wilona as a mother.

I felt Penny's roll was to much also.It almost left everyone else out at one point. And I didn't really care for the topics anyway. Now don't get me wrong I have nothing against the Mother and Daughter thing but they just allowed them to much spot light over the stars of the show.Sorry.

As Thomas pointed out, you're not alone.

I really enjoyed Penny and what she brought to the show, and I agree that it gave Willona more depth.

Good Times is one of my favorite shows; I enjoyed Penny..Janey Jackson was an adorable, little girl...I agree, that the earlier seasons of the show were the best with John Amos, who was one of the most talented actors on Good Times..But I generally were fond of all the seasons...
