I'm not sure during what season this happens (probably 4th or 5th), but has anyone ever noticed:
You know the opening credits in which Ward, Wally and Beaver are all doing yard work and June comes out of the house holding a pitcher of Lemonade or Iced Tea? Next time you see those credits (TV Land is currently running shows from that season), Notice how the Front Door opens for June to come out, and she's holding the tray of refreshments with both hands. And then, after she steps outside to call the boys, someone out of view closes the door behind her. Who's opening and closing the door for her? I just happened to notice that during the weekend marathon a couple of weeks ago, and thought it was kinda funny. |

It's funny that you should bring this up! One of the first things I noticed when I started watching the show and these episodes is the fact that someone out of view closed the door behind June. I thought that was really weird. Why did it matter if the door was left open? Just a funny occurence, I guess.

Yeah, and the weird thing is, you wonder what was going through the director's mind when filming the opening credits...did he just say, "hold it, door's gotta be CLOSED during this scene!"...what made him even DO the scene that way?? Like you said, only on TV!

I just watched it again and it is true! Funny I never noticed that before! I like finding out things like that.....you know, muffed lines, bloopers and stuff! Like on The Brady Bunch there were several goofs, like Jan calling Peter "Chris". and so forth!

Actually, in the episode where the Bradys rent a trampouline, Carol says to Peter, "Hey, go get 'em Chris" as Peter jumps on the trampouline...
Also, in that same scene, Greg says to Jan,"why don't you give it a try, Eve?". Just two of many Brady bloopers found by their many eagle eyed and eagle eared fans. :-) |

Here's another thing about that front-door shot:
When the front door is opened, you can see a wall just behind the door (I believe it had a painting on it and a piece of furniture there too). However, when you look at the inside of the house, the front hall is very open with a staircase right there. Where's that wall? Mark B |

That is weird.... I always found it amusing that they were all outside doing yard work in button up and down shirts and nice pants.

just an add on to the door closing ghost at the cleavers. in the episode that i believe is called "beaver's hero", not sure about that title. its the one where beaver tells class ward was a world war hero and when he goes to look through wards trunk, its just a bunch of land leveling equipment. well anyway, in that episode, ward comes home through a different door than june's expecting. when he surprises her from behind, they greet and the door she left wide open, slams shut. she was nowhere near it. it wasn't even really in the background. the shot of the door took up half the screen. spooooooooooooooooooooky

Hmmm...
Does sound like there is a ghost at 211 Pine! Well, the Munster house IS just 3 doors down. Not to mention that the 'old Simmons house' (from 'The Ghost and Mr. Chicken') is only two doors down! Nightmare on Pine Street! Mark B

And I have read that the house nextdoor to the Cleavers' Pine Avenue house is the one used currently for the outdoor shot in Providence, in which Mike Farrell plays a veteranarian whose clinic is in the basement.
