LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Dondre T. Whitfield, one of the stars of NBC's "Hidden Hills," has joined the cast of an NBC pilot toplined by Whoopi Goldberg. Whitfield will play Goldberg's brother in the comedy, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The Oscar-winning actress stars as a former showbiz diva who now runs a small hotel with her brother. British-Iranian comedian Omid Djalili ("The Mummy" ) has also signed on to the pilot, which is being produced by Carsey-Werner-Mandabach. Djalili will play the hotel's handyman. Whitfield's casting further dims the prospects for "Hidden Hills" to come back out of hiding. The show has been off the air since January, and several cast members have taken pilot roles. Paula Marshall has joined NBC's "Alligator Point," while Stacy Galina is part of the network's untitled Howie Mandel pilot. In addition to "Hidden Hills," Whitfield's credits include "Girlfriends," "Inside Schwartz" and "All My Children," where he earned three Daytime Emmy nominations. |
