Post The Real World Chicago Member Getting a Star Role on Days of our Lives.

Kyle Brandt from The Real World Chicago. Is going to be taking over the role of Phillip Kiriakis on Days of our Lives, when the character returns sometime this summer.
Just in case there are any Kyle Brandt fans out there, who want to know about it.

LOL. That's really interesting. I remember on their reunion special with Brian McFadden (btw, what happen to that fool?), Kyle said he was offered a job on Passions, and he turned it down because it wasn't good enough. He didn't exactly say that, but it was clear he didn't think it was good enough. (Kara, Cara, whatever was complimenting him for getting the offer and he roled his eyes.) Now, a year later he has agreed to do a different soap. Either he's become desperate, or he thinks Days is a cut above Passions (which many people do think). I'm betting desperation. Anyways, funny.

I saw that! It sounds actually very typical of Kyle. He talked out of both sides of his mouth on the show too (the Keri incident).

Yes he did! Creep. I can't believe Lori from Back to NY and the current Battle of the Sexes is actually with him. She seems too good for him. Well, maybe they're not together anymore, and maybe they're right for eachother anyways. ??? It just appeared to be a weird match.

You're kidding me I didn't even know they were together. Well...not to be mean lol but her judgement was kind of impaired on her season as well chasing after Kevin way too hard when he clearly didn't want her ultimately forcing him to say outright "LOOK, I don't want you!" So not seeing Kyle for the arrogant self-serving cheeseball he is shouldn't surprise me. Geez, rehashing all this stuff reminds me why I have never and will never apply for any show even remotely like Real World It seems like something you can never live down and I'm sure everybody goes on there thinking they're gonna handle it better than any housemate ever before.

Yeah, did you see that half hour special a few weeks ago with Dan Renzi (Real World Miami/Battle of the Sexes)? It was called "19 Degrees of Reality Hook-ups. " He mentioned that Kyle and Lori were together and declined to speak on camera about their relationship.

I've been to Lori's website, and she thought the Kevin situation was blown out of purportion on the show. She said it all happened within like a week, but production dragged the story out. I don't know if that's true or not. But she did like the guy, so that says something about her taste. It's no lie that he actually said, "LOOK, I don't want you!" which was totally harsh, I thought.

I agree, I don't think they can ever live it down. The reruns play over and over and we viewers remember the stuff and talk about it. I can't believe a long time ago, I thought it would be fun to try out for Real World. Holy smokes, that couldn't be further from the truth now. I would never even want to send in a tape.

I do think that Kevin gave her strong hope of hooking up at first then yanked it away so suddenly. It was rather odd even. He went from hot to cold seemingly overnight. But I do also think that Lori develops strong feelings rather easily and I think he sensed that in just a matter of days she probably already had a "relationship" on her mind. She played it off as a crush but I'm pretty sure if Kevin had pursued actual dating, she'd have been ready and willing. I don't mean it as an insult. Letting your feelings get carried away is a natural tendency that many people fight to curb. I actually used to be just like her and that's probably why I can recognize it when I see it. He could have saved his "LOOK, I don't want you" speech for another time knowing the cameras were directly on them. He didn't have to humiliate her, although some may argue that she opened herself up for it. Ugh, romance sure is complicated, isn't it?

It sure is. I think you definitely have that situation analyzed correctly. Kevin totally gave her false hope. And his speech when the cameras were right on them was not cool.

I figured he'd be a creep, ugh, mabye they'll fire him or mabye just mabye he might be good at playing Phillip. I'm trying to stay optomistic but it's not working to well. But I do know this if Kyle is a real pain in the rear there are plenty of actors and actresses that WILL tell him off. Trust me, my Days actors & actresses, they'll take care of him if he starts something.

Nah, I don't think he'll give them any trouble. He just picks on sweet girls naive enough to fall for his nice guy act. Kyle's a crooked politician in the making if I ever saw one. Kissing babies for the news cameras while screwing the community blind behind the scenes.
