This show along with the toy line reeled my in as an 80's child. There was nothing more mystical and magical to me. Now the new Masters toy line and cartoons are out. While the quality is certainly there, it is just not the same. Something about the new cartoon is seriously lacking.
Did you watch He-Man and The Masters Of the Universe? If so, what are your thoughts? |

Yes, I remember watching He Man and the Masters of the Universe. Adam, the Prince of Eternia was his alter ego. Adam befriended Cringer, a green wildcat who then became Battlecat when Adam turned He-Man.

He Man was always one of my favourite cartoons, I used to think all the characters were really great- Orko, Skelator etc. The opening credit sequence was great, and the way they always had a little morale at the end.

The original He-Man was GREAT! Cartoon Network really ruined it with their remake. I am pretty sure there are no plans as of now to release the original episodes. but you CAN download them from the internet! shhh. lol

I LOVED the original He-Man, as well as She-Ra. I hate what Cartoon Network did to the show. They RUINED it! The new toys are kinda cheesy looking too. As I just mentioned on another post, you can download original He-Man episodes off of the internet...

I agree with you. Of course being a figure collector, I have quite a bit of the new toys and reissues stored safely in package. But they took away what seems like the true essence of the series. The new figures are tall and lanky, not solid at all. In order to give them the detail that they did, they made the figures highly breakable. And the figures look, well...way to much like Mattel tried to join in on this anime' craze. Trying to jump on board with Yu Gi Oh and BeyBaldes is a big joke. Masters was always better than that. As far as the cartoons, I like the anime like action, but again, the majesty of the original cartoon seems ignored. Instead of setting Masters apart to be the best again, they tried to make it like the rest. Sad mistake. If by chance you happen to be a fan of Masters Of the Universe, there are contact addresses over at www.Mastersoftheuniverse.com I hand wrote them a letter and did recieve a response. |

That would be great if they released a DVD, as a boxset of a whole season. |

I have only seen a handful of the new episodes on CN, but they are far better than the original He-Man series.
That series was awful.

Oh man, I disagree. That series was meant for the children first. Now as adults of the 80's children generation, we are taking things away from our youth and keeping them for ourselves. This is apparent with many cartoons, comic books, and video games. The new series is more for the adult MOTU collector types. Perhaps it is time for many of us to grow up? |

I never watched He-Man Or She-Ra back in the 80's being I was too old, over the few years I rediscovered what I missed. From the videos of He-Man,She-Ra,Secret Of The Sword,& christmas specials, that I got&watched over,I notices their are pluses&minuses in both series.First off on the old He-Man&She-Ra series which was made by Fimation Studios{Which is no more!}All their stuff was made here in the good old USA,never was it shipped over seas, they keept people working in the states.Next all the series were hand drawn, where now I beleive it's mainlly computre animated, plus alot of the work is done over seas to save on production cost!!.On The Secret of The Sword movie, which I real is great,I love the opening song,Filmation really knew their stuff!.the story was well written, plus the animation was great. Some flaws which I think that played a factor in the demised in the series, were some of it was kind of corny,as it progessed along, they keept repeting certain stuff,so it got old, next was every episode spawned more figures&stuff. That was trully the drawback. Now on the new series, good stories, animation for what it is pretty good, lots of action,&good music!.But The original series will allways be a classic&A staple in pop cullture.Just like a really like the Justice League cartoon over the old SuperFriends, but the Superfriends are still a staple in everybodys life,at some piont in time anybody who is anybody has watched all forms of the superfriends,as clean&as campy, their a classic!.I hope you all don't disagree with this!
