Default Even more goodies- the picture thread

Okay, I made this thread mainly because I've scanned like 4 different things involving the reunion movie, but we can all use this thread as a picture thread. If anybody should ever run across anything Batman related and you have a scanner, feel free to post the scan the pic.

I know the scans aren't really the best, so if anybody has trouble reading the text, just let me know and I'll just type it out on here. I don't mind doing that. Actually, it would make me feel better if someone did speak up and said they had trouble reading it, if they had trouble reading it. If one person has trouble reading the text, numerous others might have the same problem. Just let me know.

Okay, went out and bought 3 tabloids today. Unfortunately, I didn't see anything in the National Examiner or Globe, but did see this piece in Star. I'll buy the National Enquirer sometime this week and if anything is in NE, I'll scan it.

I apologize that each pic is such a big size. I tried to cut out all the black parts of the images and just use the main bits that involved the Batman movie, but it just blurred up so badly when I did that that I just had to use the whole thing.

Thanks for providing and sharing all the articles regarding the reunion movie, I appreciate that your keeping everything up-to-date. Although, it is difficult to read some of the TV Guide articles, you can type them out if you would like, it may be helpful, but then again, you don't have to.

Your welcome. Thank you for speaking up about some of the articles being hard to read. I'll start now.

Holy Batman Reunion! Adam West and Burt Ward, TV's Batman and Robin, play themselves in this 2003 TV movie, a salute to the 1966-68 series. The actors join forces to help find the original Batmobile after it's stolen, reliving the making of the classic show as they search for clues. Flashbacks (with Jack Brewer as West and Jason Marsden as Ward) recall how the duo won their roles, and show them swapping tales of escapades with female fans and interacting off-screen with the stars who played "special guest villains." Batman baddies Julie Newmar and Lee Meriwether (both played Catwoman) and Frank Gorshin have cameos, and Lyle Waggoner appears in a clip from his screen test for the role of the Caped Crusader.

TV's Favorite Dynamic Duo Reunite For One More Caped Crusade
In one of the most surreal network programming gambits of an already surreal television season, CBS has brought together the original Dynamic Duo- Adam West and Burt Ward from ABC's campy 1966-68 Batman series-to play themselves in a new TV- movie, Return to the Batcave: The Misadventures of Adam and Burt (March 9, 9 P.M./E.T.). "I'm breathing new life into Batman," says West. "It's an homage to the past, but it's also about two guys who have come up with their own unique comedy team." Indeed, the two-hour adventure kicks off in fine bat tradition, when the now decrepit duo witness the theft of the original Batmobile from a Hollywood charity event. "We have to call the police," says a bystander. "No," replies West. "This is a job for actors."

The plucky pensioners then set off on an increasingly bizarre quest to retrieve their cherished chariot, meeting old friends along the way (including former Catwoman Julie Newmar, who performs a hallucinatory dance number, with West, in an Arizona roadhouse). To make things even stranger, the story is peppered with flashbacks to the '60s, where we see a fictionalized version of the making of the original series. (Jack Brewer playes the young West and Jason Marsden plays Ward)

None of this, according to Ward, is much of a stretch for the 72-year-old West: "Forget the costume, he is Batman," says the Former Boy Wonder, now 56. "He has erased the line between an actor portraying a part, and being a real superhero." But Batman-er, West, that is- seems a little more sanguine: "Lord, I've done five TV series, 50 movies; some of them fairly good, a lot of turkeys. But my feeling is, why be a bitter, aging actor? I had the opportunity, the good fortune, to have been able to create a classic character that people love. And I feel damn good about that." Amen to bat.

3- Review

Return to the Batcave: The Misadventures of Adam and Burt (Sun., CBS)
In this reunion movie, Batman stars Adam West and Burt Ward play themselves as, well, pathetic former TV stars. Searching for their stolen Batmobile, they bump into fellow former cast members (Frank Gorshin, Julie Newmar) along the way. West: "Someone is forcing us to relive our past, but to what dark end?" Certainly not entertainment. Batcave is a misadventure in tedium, so embarrassing to its participants that they must wish to crawl into a Batcave themselves. My Score: 1

Oops, I just realized on my number 5 post, I put NE article. This is from Star. Sorry about that. Anyway, here is the Star article/review.

Return to the Batcave: The Misadventures of Adam and Burt (2003) Made-for-TV premiere CBS, Sunday, March 9, 9 p.m.
Holy waistline, Batman! Burt Ward who played Robin the Boy Wonder on the '60s TV series Batman, will never fit into that cute little red, yellow and green outfit again. But that's not stopping the now-senior dynamic duo from fighting evildoers in this Bat-tastic TV movie that nostalgically captures all the high camp comedy that made the original series so much fun.

When the world-famous Batmobile is stolen from a charity event, Adam West and Burt Ward- TV's Batman and Robin- try to track it down. "This is a job for actors!" exclaims West with his famous deadpan delivery. Along the way, they flash back to the swinging '60s to recall the bizarre-but-true-behind-the-scenes story of how Batman got on the air.

The special guest stars include the original Riddler, Frank Gorshin, and Julie Newmar and Lee Meriwether, both of whom played Catwoman.
