Ok, these really are off the top of my head. I'm not gonna cheat by going to a Flintstone's website.

Honeymooners

2. What was the original title of "The Flintstones, and why did Hanna-Barbera have to change it? (Extra Credit: what title did they use in the interim?)

Flagstones, I believe because it conflicted with a comic strip. I think the "interm" name was "Gladstones", but I'm not 100% on that.

1.What popular 1950s sitcom was used as the basis for "The Flintstones"? (okay, this one's a gimme...)

"The Homeymooners" of course, that classic sitcom starring Jackie Gleason, Art Carney, Audrey Meadows and Joyce Randolph.

2. What was the original title of "The Flintstones, and why did Hanna-Barbera have to change it? (Extra Credit: what title did they use in the interim?)

The original title was "The Flagstones", but H-B was forced to change the name when the legal dept. of King Features Syndicate threatened suit because the name was almost the same as the family featured in Mort Walker and Dik Browne's "Hi and Lois" comic strip. (Extra Credit: The name they chose in the interim was "The Gladstones"...some of the early model sheets of the Flintstone still carry that name.)

3. Name the animator who designed Fred and Barney (hint: He worked for Hanna and Barbera as an animator on the "Tom and Jerry" shorts.)

Ed Benedict is the animator who originaly designed "The Flintstones".

4.When did "The Flintstones" premiere, and on what network?

30 September 1960 on the ABC network.

5.What was the name of the opening theme used during "The Flintstones's" first two seasons?

"Rise and Shine", and, yes, that opening has been restored to the prime-time showings of "The Flintstones" on Cartoon Network.

6.What is the title of the theme used on "The Flintstones" from the third season on?

"Meet the Flintstones"

7. What is Wilma Flintstone's maiden name?

Slaghoople.

8. What is Betty Rubble's Maiden name?

McBricker.

9. Why do Fred, Barney, and most of the male characters wear those five o'clock shadows on their faces?

Actually, it was an animation shortcut used to facillitate dialogue without having to re-draw the face every time. Same with the arms, or legs...they usually change color when tjhey move. And as for those repeating backgrounds...oy, my head huirts...

10. True or False: Dino could talk in his first appearance.

False. Dino's first appearance was in "No Help Wanted"(21 October 1960) where he did his barking/tackling/licking Fred thing for the first (but surely not last) time. His next appearance was "The Snorkasaurus Hunter" (27 January 1961), where he was a talking, Bugs Bunny-esque wise guy outwitting witless hunters Fred and Barney (of course, if you accept this episode as gospel, then why does Dino bark like a dog for the remainder of his existance in these cartoons?...and don't get me started on "The Flinstone Kids...)

11. True or False: Winston Cigarettes was a sponsor for "The Flintstones".

True, as was Miles Laboratories, makers of "One-A-Day" Vitamins...and "Chocks" (anyone out there remember "Chocks"?)

12. Which of these celebrities did NOT appear on "The Flintstones" during its initial run?
A. Ann-Margaret
B. Jack Benny
C.Dee Wallace Stone
D. Tony Curtis
E.Hoagy Carmicheal

"C". I threw that one in to confuse everybody...AND IT WORKED!!

13. True or False: Ideal Toys made a "Pebbles" doll, which sold out. True.

It was a big seller during the 1963 Christmas Season.

14. True or False: Bamm-Bamm is on steroids.

This one's really up in the air; if you think he is, then "true"; but, if, like me, you think the whole notion of a stone-age toddler being on mind-numbing narcotics is somewhat twisted, then "false".

15. Which of these characters drank Fred's last bottle of "Cactus Cola" that he had been saving in the refrigerator for after work in the episode "The Split Personality" (28 October 1960)?
A. Barney
B. Wilma
C.Arnold the paperboy
D. Dino

"A". And Fred, thinking Barney hadn't consumed the evidence, drank his bottle of car polish...

16. In the episode "Hollyrock, Here I Come" (2 December 1960), what is the name of the tv play that Fred and Wilma star in?

"The Frogmouth", one of those stories about those loudmouth types, you know...(Barney {looking at the audience}: "Oh, intimately, Fred. Intimately.")

17. What thoughtless anniversary gift does Fred buy for Wilma in "The Buffalo Convention" (26 October 1962)?

Doozy the talking Dodo bird, who gives away Fred and Barney's scam to go to Frantic City. (@$#!*&in' bird!!)

18. Name the lodge that Fred and Barney belong to (there are two or three different names for this organization. Hint: the name is part of question 17.)

The Loyal Order of Water Buffaloes, The Royal Order of Water Buffaloes, and, in "Hot Lips Hannigan", The Loyal order of Dinosaurs.

19. Name at least two consumer products that are still being produced today featuring "Flintstones" characters.

"Pebbles" cereal (Cocoa and Fruity) and, of course, "Flinstones Chewable Vitamins" (which replaced "Chocks" in the late '60s.)

20. True or False: Sally Field did the voice of Pebbles Flintstone on "Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm" (1971)?

False. It was Sally Struthers, better known as "Gloria" on "All in the Family."

21. True or False: Jay North did the voice of Bamm-Bamm Rubble on "Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm"? (Extra Credit: name the famous comic strip character he played when he was a child.)

True. He also starred as Dennis The Menace in the sitcom of the same name, based on Hank Ketcham's daily panel.

22. True or false: Captain Caveman is a part of the original "Flintstones" mythos.

False. Captain Caveman made his first appearance with the Teen Angels back in 1976. He didn't appear on any "Flinstones" series until the early 1980s.

23. Name the two actors who portrayed Fred and Barney in the first "Flintstones" film (1994)?

John Goodman (Fred) and Rick Moranis (Barney).

24. In the episode "Groom Gloom" (26 September 1963) Fred dreams that Pebbles grows up to marry...
A. Bamm-Bamm
B.Mr. Slate
C. Arnold the paperboy
D. Dino

"C". And it was Fred's worst nightmare...

25. In "The X-Ray Story" (29 December 1961) Fred thinks he's contracted what deadly disease?
A. Rock-Slag disease
B.Dinopeptic Germ
C. Stone Fever
D. Flat Feet.

"B". The "dino peptic germ", while harmless to dinosaurs (like Dino) was deadly to humans (like Fred), especially if they fall asleep. (That's why Wilma, Betty, and Barney took poor, exhausted Fred out partying!)

26.True or False: Hanna-Barbera was going to produce an all-Black version of "The Flintstones" called "The Blackstones"?

True, oddly enough, although this one didn't get beyond the planning stages, but, judging from some of the drawings, the show was going to be patterned after "Good Times" (right. Like J.J. Evans isn't cartoon enough as it is...)

27. What did Fred use as an electric razor?

A bumblebee in a clam shell.

28. What did Wilma use as a vacuum cleaner?

A baby elephant (or Mastadon, since this WAS the stone-age...)

29. What did Barney Use as Hedge clippers?

A pelican.

30. What did Betty use as clothespins for the wash?

Bluebirds (you folks starting to see a pattern, here?)

And Finally, the BIG question: JUST WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH PEBBLES CEREAL, ANYWAY?

I'll be damned if I know...

Everyone did better on this thing than I expected. I'll give everyone a "B-"...just 'cause I like you!!
