Default The moment of truth...

So...who do you like better? Kate or Allie?

This is a really tough question for me, but when it comes down to it, I like them equally. Jane Curtin, in my opinion, is a great actress, and deserved more than 2 Emmy's for this show. I think her random outburst are great: "Noooo!!!" "Whaaa!!!", etc...and I really hope she returns to TV someday.

As for Susan Saint James, she's like a breat of fresh air. I think more people can identify with her than with straight-laced Allie, but her acting can sometimes seem a little weak. Overall, I think both of them have their times to shine in this series, which is why it's hard to have a favorite...two wonderful acctresses!

Tough decision, but in the end I go with Jane Curtin as Allie Lowell.

She had more depth, more personality than Kate McArdle.

I would have to agree also on Allie. I just liked Jane's acting abilities better than Susan's (although Susan did a great job also).

I did identify more with Kate though, she being the more free-spirited, laid-back of the two. Allie reminds me of my mother somewhat, hee hee

I liked Allie a lot but really, if I have to choose between the two.. it's gotta be Kate. I always preferred her over the two because, like you, I identified more with her. Her being more laid-back and free-spirited.

Allie was more motherly (which I liked) but she was too serious for me, I guess.
