She married Dan's father and then kind of just faded away off the show.

I don't know why she left, but I'd say it was on the cards for a while, she was dropped to recurring status in season 5 and only appeared in two episodes in season six, none in season seven and only the premiere episode in season eight.

She didn't appear in the final episode.

I have never heard a reason for any of this.

The last time I saw Natalie West was on an E! special a couple of years ago, she didn't seem to say anything bad about Roseanne or her time on the show, possibly she left to look after her children.

Is it me, or did Crystal have a non-speaking part in the Thanksgiving episode of the 9th season??? Something like Crystal was about to say something and Roseanne told her to shut up.

According to IMDB this was her last episode on Roseanne:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0688874/

It also says she did 84 episodes of Roseanne. IS THAT POSSIBLE? It doesn't seem like she did that many episodes.

It doesn't seem like Crystal was in that many episodes. I wonder why she drifted away from the show.

I think it was due to her relationship with Ed.

There was an interview where Roseanne said Natalie Anderson did leave the show to focus on her kids and that she left the door open for her if she ever wanted to come back. I really don't think Natalie appeared in 84 episodes. IMDB has a lot of apperance records wrong for a lot of people.

In the unedited verrsion of the ep. "Straight to Video", Roseanne DOES mention that she and Dan never see Crystal anymore because of her marriage to Ed and Dan's bad relationship with him. It is very brief, but look for it.

to me 84 episodes sounds reasonable....she was in almost every episodes of the first few seasons....

What I heard is that they cast her so Roseanne had someone to play off of. Like in every sitcom the star has to have someone to play off of.

But what they soon realized is that Jackie served the purpose of sister and friend just fine and they didn't really need Crystal. So they slowly started to write her out of the show and make her role more and more minor.
