The Collectors Edition of Twilight Zone. AnotherUniverse.com, in conjunction with V3 Media, will release a limited edition boxed Gold Edition of the classic TV series Twilight Zone on December 3, 2002. While the individual episodes have been available previously, this is the first time the series has been remastered in sequential order in a collectable-boxed set. Comprising 44 DVDs of episodes and 5 DVDs of bonus material, this is the largest DVD collection ever released. Hosted and created by Rod Serling and starring a wide range of now-famous guest actors, the Twilight Zone was first released by CBS in 1959, and won 3 Emmy awards in 1960 and 1961. It was canceled after 5 seasons, but has enjoyed constant syndication every since, from regular weekly broadcasts to weekend-long marathon shows.
Limited to 2500 sets, the Collectors Edition includes two limited edition Gold Logo Slipcases, 5 bonus disks, the entire 156 episodes on 44 DVDs for $399.99, and includes two episodes not previously included in Image Entertainment's prior or upcoming releases. Those episodes are "The Eye of the Beholder" (episode 42) and "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge" (episode 142). http://www.tv-now.com/press/index.html I'd love to have it, but I don't think I can afford it. lol |

Whoa...hefty price tag. If I had $400, I'd be closer to paying off that DVD+R I just bought.

It really is a pro and con to me. The pro is a person could have every episode in one set instead of buying a million dvds just to have a collection. They did that with TZ right? Have about 4 episodes per dvd instead of releasing it season by season? The big con is that 400 bucks. I hope they do another set pretty soon that has a cheaper price tag. They could do it like they are doing with All in the Family and Sanford and Son. |

Well, I guess either way if you buy all volumes it's still gonna cost a pretty penny. |

I think Another Universe should've released it season by season, instead of releasing it in a series set. But then again, combined it's cheaper then buying the 43 individual volumes released, which would total around $645 if you go by how much Barnes and Nobles charges.
Also, the Another Universe DVDs were made using the DVD-R technology. Not all players can play DVD-Rs, though most now can. However, the Image set that is coming out did not use the DVD-R technology and should play on most players |
