Questions i wish i could ask the fictional characters of Sanford and Son

Hey Lamont, as old as you were, why were you still living with your dad?

Fred who was your best friend?

Fred, why didn't you like Rollo?

Fred why was Grady living with Lamont when you went away for a while in St. Louis? Lamont was a grown man right? I don't think he needed supervision.

I think Fred and Lamont would answer:

1.) Lamont was a big dummy who couldn't get it together;

2.) Bubba and Grady (not necessarily in that order);

3.) Rollo was a thug; and

4.) Grady was his best friend, and Fred made him promise that Lamont wouldn't be hostin' no "or-gees" (he meant "Orgies", of course; the real reason was for storytelling/continuity reasons, in case ol' Redd didn't want to come back to the show!)

Fred probably woukd have said Grady was his best friend.

1. In case you didn't notice, we run a junk business and struggle to pay bills. What makes you think Lamont can afford his own place?

2. Melvin was for a while, but he disappeared. Then Bubba, but he got jealous when Grady was always over so he didn't come around as much. Grady moved away, Bubba came back. Bubba because he's been around most.

3. Simple, Rollo was a pot smoking thug with a criminal past.

4. Grady was there to make sure Esther didn't have her Bible meetings, Lamont didn't have overnight guests and orgies, and Lamont worked hard all day long on the truck. A hard day of junk collecting wears a man out. Grady can keep the place clean, cook Lamont meals, and assist the customers visiting the junkyard during the day.
