For those of us that are fans already and those who have not had the enjoyment of seeing this cult classic, The Stepfather is on IFC tonight at 8:00 pm EST! I'd love to hear a new review of this classic.

I saw some parts of it. It was only of interest to me because Shelley Hack was in it and I was a big Charlie's Angels fan when TV Land started running it.

The first Stepfather movie is great. Then they started making sequals, where he just kept breaking out of whatever mental hospital he was in, to find another family to terrorize.
As a matter of fact, Terry O'Quinn was replaced in the third film. His character had his face surgically altered after escaping from another mental hospital, so they could get another actor to play the evil stepfather. They should have quit after the first one.

Stepfather 2 wasn't bad it had some moments. Stepfather 3 was a shameless rip off of 1 sometimes line for line. Without Terry O'Quinn it just isn't the same anyway.

I like the 2nd one, cuz Priscilla Barnes is in it. She is so gorgeous. Anybody have a recent pic of her?

I agree. I think they were hoping to create a whole franchise with the movies, make the character of "the stepfather" into another Freddy Kruger or Jason or Michael Meyers with the unstoppable killer thing - he survives until the next sequel... Just quit while you're ahead. |
