Post EDITING CHICO EPISODES

i've been a freddie fan sice the late seventies and i've a copy of the episode that i recorded from the mid 80's of chico and the man where bernie koppel is going to give ed a free facelift and when i saw it on tv land they edited the tv land version, theres a part when ed asks harry what hes doing here and he replies i'm going to san francisco to practice and chico says you don't need to practice you pick pockets like a true puerto rican, this wasn't included on the tv land episode also before chico inrtoduces eds new makeover he takes to flora on the phone and makes up with liz, these too weren't included on the tv land episode i wonder if the other episodes are edited also.i can't really complain though i've been searching for chico episodes for years and by them showing them is great i just wish they wouldn't edit them

The editing is common practice unfortunately.Today, adverts take more and more time from a show and something has to be chopped.Sometimes they even speed the tape up slightly to make it go faster.I hate the editing because it makes the TV versions "unauthentic" as compared to their original broadcast configuration.

It's also the almighty Dollar. They edit all the shows to make room for more commercials. They don't care what the viewers want. I refer TV Land as Butcher Land for the way they chop up their shows.

You know what would be cool? It would be cool if there were Chico and the Man videos like how shows like Xena have their video box sets. No commercials, everything intact plus some bonuses like out-takes and bloopers! That would rock.

Moon - I like that idea. I would like to see the shows in their entirety (New word) (?).

Yes, the editing where bits of the show are lost, is a real bummer. I noticed parts missing and kept hoping they would not continue to do this.

To Lance, your characterization is 100% correct!

I definitely would be interested in purchasing the entire series on VHS or DVD if they were made available and hopefully uncut.
