There was a police chase going on and ended in front of my house and I was watching it all(Ended with a crash)... Happened August 2001....

And then when I was like 4-5 years old... I was outside and found our neighbor who was like 80 years old laying on the stairs that led to the basement where the washers were and stuff (At the time we lived in an apartment and she had fell down them) So I ran to my mom and told her.... She called 911, later that night we found out the woman died....

I saw a baby fall out of a grocery cart at walmart onto a concrete floor.... the thud it made was eerie... it still makes me feel sick thinking about it. I imagine the baby is alive still but with mental problems now most likely.

I once saw a pedestrian get hit by a car in an intersection. The teenager who hit the lady was crying because she felt so bad and the lady actually told her it was alright and that she was okay. I was lucky to see such a nice forgiving attitude. I imagine most accidents wouldn't seem so forgiving.

Thumbs down

I have been in a car crash myself. I think I was only about 3 or 4 years old at the time but I can still remember it very clearly.
There was just me and my mum in the car. I was strapped into the car seat in the back and I was holding my favourite toy (I called him 'rainbow mouse' - it was this furry toy mouse with these multi-coloured stripes on it's belly). It was winter and the road was real icy. The car hit a patch of black ice on the road and my mum lost control of the car and it slammed into a wall. I remember feeling the jolt as the car hit the wall, I lurched forward and I dropped the mouse on the floor.
I have this really spooky memory of watching the mouse fall in slow motion and land at my feet.

As for things I have been witness to - I was a witness at a car crash about 2 miles from my house in August 2000. Noone was killed but one of the drivers was really badly injured - the paramedics had to cut him out of the car.

I'm glad I haven't been witness to anything really bad. A girl I used to know once saw a guy jump off a bridge and kill himself. It really affected her, even years later.

Well, this is kind of witnessing from the other end of it but I was outside with my friends Dad (Rich) who Id known my whole life and our parents were friends and that day he was helping my dad put up this fence for the roses and the phone rang and it was these people who was crying and said they had to talk to Rich and i couldnt make out anything they said but that they were standing outside the train station and something had happened. Then they got disconnected. SO Im like "ok...." Then a few minutes later these people showed up at the door and told Rich he had to come with them because his son had been hit by a train and he had to come identify him (he had died instantly). It was really freaky because we didnt know anything for awhile and he kept calling us and other people kept calling us trying to find him. I still hate answering the phone...

there was a huge brush fire many miles from here, and i swear the smoke covered the entire sky in my town, i went to school way on the other side of the town of where the fire was coming from, and you could smell the smoke even from there. ashes covering the neighborhood. also there was another one, just on the end of my road a few years before that. and that was less then a mile from me. glad they took those trees down now and built stores there cuz those burnt trees were just ugly. Also those "hoax terrorists" that pretended they were gonna blow up miami a few weeks ago, they got busted in my town. i didnt exactly witness it but i couldnt take the highway all day.

I remember when I was 6 years old, I was at a family barbecue at my grandparents' house. My grandpa had a stroke and had fallen to the ground and was unconscious. I remember I was screaming and crying and one of my older cousins held onto me as the paramedics took my grandpa away.

A couple of years ago, I was in class one day and this girl had a seizure and was puking and stuff. The professor told us to leave. The girl was OK.
