Cool Night Gallery

Yes, this is a TZ board, but this show is VERY related!

Anyway, (Jenny's not gonna want to hear this) on Labor Day the Encore Mystery channel showed an all-day NG marathon. And I got sucked into it.

Cool show. And it has 70s kitch written all over it, which makes it even better!

Of the stories I saw, these I liked-
The Hand of Borgus Weems (but I'm mad 'cause I've been wanting to see it for sooooo long and it just surprised me- which means no tape)
Fear of Spiders (with REAL spiders mind you *shiver*)
The Boy Who Could Predict Earthquakes (or something like that)

So this commercial they kept showing showed clips from episodes with Bill Bixby and Bob Crane and I haven't seen those.

argh- I should've taped it when it came on scifi. Did they show the Caterpillar episode about that earwig that went in the man's ear and crawled through his brain and I think had babies in his brain? I would love to see that episode, even if it does creep me out. lol

I'm not sure. I didn't know it was on until 2pm. But I know I never saw that. Eww...that would creep me out too. Those spiders that crawled out of that guy's sink were bad enough.

so the spider episode was kind of pre-Arachnaphobia? That movie is pretty creepy, so I know the spider episode of NG has to be creepy too.

My mother wouldn't want to see that episode then! She is scared to death of spiders. I'm scared of roaches and she's scared of spiders. We're a good team. lol

I get the Encore Mystery channel and I watch the show when I can. I saw the fear of spiders episode. It's somewhat freaky but not enough to give you nightmares.

Thumbs up

I've got to see Night Gallery. I use to see it many, many moons ago. Another good show way back when was the Time tunnel.

Oh my God. I haven't thought of that episode in years! I remember being so freaked out when I saw it. Nasty.
Also, I think it was Night Gallery when there were paintings hanging on the wall going up the staircase, and they came to life or something. Does anyone know what I'm referring to? I remember it was very scary.

By the way one of the best episodes of Night Gallary--I actually think it was the pilot, is as good as the best Twilight Zones. It stars Joan Crawford and was directed by Steven Spielberg. Crawford plays a blind woman who's sight is recovered ironically on the night of the famous New York City blackout. It's a dandy.
