Default Spanish Music

Who likes spanish music? or Who has ever heard spanish music?

I HAVE heard it and I like it. Selena is like, the best in the world. Though, she didn't speak a word of spanish, either. I wonder what it was like for her to go to Mexico to do interviews and everything, cuz she was pretty popular. I'm sure she knew the simple stuff. I love her song 'Bidi Bidi Bom Bom'. Her american songs are good as well.

I like Selena, Shakira, Elvis Crespo (yes, I'll admit it), Jaci Velasquez, uh, Jennifer Lopez, and some others I'm forgetting...

But Selena will always be my favorite... Siempre Selena.. *sniff*

Actually, Selena did know SOME spanish. She spoke Tex-Mex, as do alot of hispanics in Texas.

As for going down to Mexico, her father was more nervous then she was. He was afraid that the media would lambast her since she her Spanish was not perfect. However, Selena did what she always did. She made the people fall in love with her. She went up to every reporter, shook their hands and asked them questions like how are they doing that day and thanking them for coming. Selena was loved by all, she was down to earth and not stuck up like some musicians are.

By the way, "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom" is my favorite too.

I loooove Spanish music. I like Selena, Shakira, Thalia, Paulina Rubio....and the list goes on. Selena is the best tho. Spanish music means a lot to me. It taught me about who I was and where I came from and that I have to appreciate that. And btw, Selena did speak fluent Spanish. She was taught phonetically by her father when she was about 9 yrs. old. Her Spanish wasnt great. She spoke it a little funny. I imagine she spoke in dialect. She didnt speak perfect Spanish which is why the press in Mexico hounded her. But she pulled through....Okay I'm rambling now so I'm gonna shut up......adios

I like Spanish music, especially Rock en Español, such as Mana, Enanitos Verdes, or Aterciopelados.

I was just wondering, if someone had posted this topic 5 years ago, I wonder how many responses it would have gotten. Spanish music and artists have come a long way.

I also consider Selena as a pioneer in that she paved the way, so to speak, for crossover artists to merge into the main stream American market. She was just beginning to be a mega star. It’s too bad her story ended the way it did.

Oh, BTW, I love Jaci Velasquez' music as well.

You do? Really? I haven't really talked to anyone who has liked her music before. I mean I know it's mostly all Christian, and I don't really listen to Christian that much nowadays, but I just love her songs. Especially the ones on Mi Corazon and Llegar la Ti

Yes, I do. A teacher of a friend of mine lent him the "Mi Corazon" CD. He liked it so much that he bought all of her CDs, except the "Christmas" one. So then, I started listening to them and I found out that she has a beautiful voice which is complemented by great music. Her voice moves me.

Yes I do love Spanish Music. I like Elvis Crespo also (Even though my hubby tells me he sounds the same in every song). I'm a huge fan of Marc Anthony and I loved Hector Lavoe.
