And what would that be? Over the counter is all I can get out of OTC.

"Nonnarcotic analgesics, which relieve minor pain, can be purchaed WITHOUT a prescription(this is where we all gasp);therefore, they are sometimes referred to as OVER-THE-COUNTER (OTC) drugs. The most common OTC is aspirin. Habitual use may cause pain to continue rather than subside. To avoid the harmful risk of adiction-the condition in which the body of the user becomes dependent on the drug in oder to function properly-Just saying "NO!" can save your life."

My dear sister found this article in her 4th grade health book......So that's why my mom limits my aspirin intake....

I must say, that ranks with some of the more odd questions I've read on here. And that's a competetive field.

OK, I'll be the first to step up and really, specifically answer this question.

I prefer Excederin for headaches. I never take plain aspirin (my mom wouldn't let me as a kid because of Reye's syndrome, and I've just never broken the habit of not using it.)

If Excederin isn't handy, I pop some acetaminophen. If that ain't around, I'll settle for Ibuprofen.

Always pills, never capsules.

And I pretty much never buy name brand stuff except for Excederin. Stuff for headaches is pretty much the only time I use OTC's.

So there you have it. Don't die from excitement.

I dont have a fav pain keller but I LOOOOOVVVEEEE Benadryl (sp?) Alot of the time, I fake being sick so I can take it! Once in a while mom only gives me 3 because she doesnt believe im sick but alot of times i get the whole 4 and if i suck on em it makes my mouth numb! Once it made me really tired and a little dizzy, but other times it usually makes me hyper and gives me some energy. I havent taken any in a while but for a while I think I was addicted! Can you get addicted to that? I'd call my mom from a payphone, and go home early from school nearly every day even when I wasnt sick because id forget hoemwork in stuff then id be like "Omg, I get benadryl. Thank god!" in so messed up. It's kinda fun being messed up tho.

I take painkillers every day cos I get stress headaches. I use Solpadine cos they are the only kind that work for me.
People are always going on about the dangers of taking a lot of paracetamol and asprin but I've been taking 2 almost every day for, like, the last 6 years and I'm ok.
