Merry Christmas!

I started with going to Midnight Mass last night and then waking up this morning. It was just me and my dad this year (I lost my mom last January and my grandpa in February).

I received as gifts:

Pocahontas doll
Mickey and Minnie dolls
Simpsons Season 18 DVD
South Park Season 20 DVD
purse
several sweaters
box of candy and a box of Life Savers
New fancy blouse
jogging pants
earrings and necklace set

For my dad I bought:
remote control car (a nicer one I got for half price!)
two books about various places around Chicago (one was about an amusement park, the other about a local highway)
a Grumpy shirt (I'm always telling him he's being like Grumpy)
a fancy shirt
two CD's, one was Gordon Lightfoot and the other the O'Jays (he liked older music)

For dinner we had lobster, crab and fish.

Bad News: Santa only left mw with two DVDs and a $20.00 bill

Good News: Thanks to the First Methodist Church and the Church of the Nazarine I got a backpack, a thick blanket, a shirt, two jigsaw puzzles. a Lego toy, and enough toothbrushes, toothpaste shaving cream and toilet paper and toiletries to sink a ship!

I think Santa knew about this windfall so he adjusted my Xmas List, so I have no hard feelings. I will order a DVD set of Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In on January 6 as a "Last Hurrah". then I fold like a book until April, which I've declared to be "Little *Stinker* Month because three of the five persons who were awarded their "Little *Stinker of the Century* have April Birthdays. As for the other two, one has his birthday on January 27 (I'll raid a bargain bin at Uncle Wally) there will be another raid at Uncle Wally on July 9 (The anniversary of the event that got him the award).

Had an awesome Christmas. Christmas Eve we spent time with my wife's side of the family, then Christmas Day, my side. Fun watching all the little ones open their presents, ate too much, and drank a little too much (those chocolate martinis are killers...)

And we got snow Christmas Eve, so we got to have a White Christmas.

Sounds like your family had a great Christmas. Just curious but does a chocolate martini taste good? Do you put olives in it like a regular martini?

No, my sister used maraschino cherries, I've also seen Hershey kisses used too.

This is the recipe she used for the ones she made:

I don't drink, but.....
Sounds delicious----Thanks for the recipe, we will have to try it New Years Eve.
Might substitute Creme De Mint for Cream De Cacao and make it a MINT Chocolate.

Christmas eve, ! We went to my Husband's family AFTER the tamales were made so we DIDN'T have to help in the VERY tedious making of them!( LOTS of work, but they are really good , worth the effort)! We had a good excuse though, I had to work earlier that day! So we had tamales and had some drinks with them. Didn't stay that late, but here is a lesson learned! After eating tamales and drinking wine AND beer , eating a bunch of Christmas sugar cookies before bed isn't such a good idea!!! I woke up kind of "green around the gills " Christmas morning !

Christmas day ! Quiet, peaceful day at home ! Just My Hubby and I ! Had some eggnog, more beer , a nice ham dinner (we invited people but they had other plans, it was OK , no insult or anything)! I had visited one of my Sons and his Girlfriend out of town last week for his birthday and an early Christmas get together ! And my other Son was with his Dad on Christmas, he was here for Thanksgiving. And I'll be seeing him later this week for his Birthday!

Today ( Belated Christmas/ Boxing day party) !! Got together with two girlfriends and we had a gift exchange, a couple glasses of wine and lots of laughs!!
