Question Will 2020 Be The Year for the First Independent President?

Do you think 2020 will be the year of the first Independent President. I think the Republicans are becoming more Fascist and the Democrats are becoming more Socialist.

What Percentage do you think we'll have an Independent President in 2020?

1. 0% to 25%.
2. 26% to 50%.
3. 51% to 75%.
4. 75% to 100%.

Oh No

I'd say 2.

I feel some Democrats who have thoughts like Ronald Reagan will be Libertarians.
I feel some Republicans who have thoughts like JFK will be Libertarians.

I feel that the Libertarian Party will be the new Third Party.

I'll vote for whoever promises single payer healthcare. If that makes me a socialist, I'll wear the label.

What if Hillary Clinton runs against Donald Trump again in 2020? Ugh.

Beam me up, Ross Perot!

Ever wonder why they invented the name 'single payer' to hide the fact that it is socialized medicine?

Nope, I think that makes it sound better. Health care is way too expensive for the average individual to afford, so let's spread the cost around. It actually makes things less expensive in the long run. Also, the average life expectancy is higher in countries with single payer.

They actually are the third party but I get what you're saying. I do think people from both sides are leaving their parties and perhaps join a third party, whether Libertarian or not.

I wish I could say we'll see a third party candidate win I doubt it. The reason has to do with the system and how both parties run the political system. Having said that, I do think a Republican will run against Trump in the next election. Usually the idea is that the party that has the presidency sticks together for the next election to make sure the current president is the nominee. However, sometimes this is impossible, like in 1980 when Ted Kennedy challenged Jimmy Carter. I am betting either Kasich or Jeb Bush will challenge Trump because both have been outspoken and have not changed.

I just can't see Jeb Bush gaining any traction going up against Trump. Kasich might fare better. But any Bush is going to get crushed.

People complain about single payer while forgetting we already have medicare. I have spoken about my experience but last year I got really sick and was in and out of the hospital. I have a healthy diet (mostly fruits and veggies and fish) and my weight is low but I got sick due to several chronic diseases such as kidney infection, asthma, psoriatic arthritis and psoriasis. Because I have been sick I have been unable to work full time, which means I don't make much. I was able to qualify for the medicaid expansion which gave me medicine to help me return to work. I've heard people tell me I deserved to die because I couldn't afford my healthcare which I found heartless and anti Christian. Here's the thing, when I am healthy I work full time at educated jobs, which means more taxes. I'll end up paying what my healthcare cost taxpayers through taxes. Let's not forget I have paid taxes since the age of 16 (working part time then full time at 18) so I have paid more than what I have used in services. Yes socializes medicine does cost and yes some people abuse it (like women who keep having babies) but what about people like me who generally aren't a drain on taxpayers dime?

I agree with you. Anybody who thinks that if you can't afford Healthcare then you have to go without has a warped idea that medical care is equivalent to buying a Cadillac or a yacht. It's a false analogy for sure. Bernie Sanders right now is pushing Medicare for all and getting more Democratic politicians to come on board with the idea. Democrats could clean up in elections by promising Medicare for all.

Where do I begin?

1: Donald Trump is the first "independent" President. He ran as a Republican but he did it all on his own. But you are just wishfull thinking that someone will defeat him in 2020 and you know the Democrats have nobody.

2: GOP is turning "Fascist"? Really? You do know that Fascism is just the end game of Socialism, don't you? Just ask Cuba and Venezuela. They can tell you. GOP is the last gasp of Democracy in our country. But the liberal lie machine is trying to paint a false picture to its followers.

3: Democrats are not turning Socialist, they already are. Bernie Sanders, a SOCIALIST almost got the nomination!

Really???

I just hope Trump and the Communist Leader Kim from North Korea doesn't get us into another war.

Their immaturity reminds me of these 9 year old kids in this A Christmas Story clip.

Yeah I'll have to agree with you. How about Marco Rubio or Ted Cruz? Even though I think Ted Cruz might be a little young yet.

Of course it sounds better. It's bull****!

You forget that other people aren't only paying for you, you are paying for other people. You think that you are getting good healthcare when the government is in charge? Do you get good service at the DMV? At the SS office? No! They're incompetent government workers that can't be fired.

The average life expectancy is higher in countries with socialized medicine because most of those are Scandinavian and other European countries dominated by health conscious white people.

Don't be a white supremacist. You've got to get over that because it's not a truth.
