Regarding the topic of calling it soda vs. pop! It was funny, the other day I was watching One day at a time, which is supposed to be set in Indianapolis, Indiana (Mid west) . Well they have a chalkboard in the kitchen where they write grocery lists , etc. I always try to make out what is written there if the camera happens to catch the chalkboard. Well the other day one of the grocery items was Pop! It was funny, I thought of this thread right away!

I also notice that they seem to drink a lot of root beer. Is that a common pop /soda for the Mid west? I remember as a kid driving through the Mid west with my family. We were driving from Philadelphia to Missouri, and stopping for lunch at a place called 'Dogs and Suds " ! I remember the hot dogs and really good root beer! Now this was early 70's mind you and it still really sticks in my mind! Than when I started watching ODAAT a couple years ago and they seemed to drink root beer a lot! I thought of that Dogs and Suds we ate at way back when !

As a kid, one of my favorites was Nehi Blue Creme.

Never heard of that, sound interesting. When I do into Mcdonalds and use the drink station I often mix the Hi C orange with Sprite. I wouldn't do it in the drive thru though since I'm picky about getting the mix right. In fact that's why I like Livewire, it reminds me of it.
