Interstate 69 enters Indianapolis concurrently with Indiana State Route 37 from the northeast, then disappears. Route 37 proceeds southwest to Bloomington, where Interstate 69 resumes, as seen here. Note the construction barriers, indicative of the effort to complete I-69 between Bloomington and Indianapolis.

Interstate 69 continues through southwestern Indiana. A fight was waged against it to preserve the natural landscape and many Amish farms. As you can see, the protesters lost the fight.

When this picture of the Robert Orr Highway in Evansville, Indiana, was taken in 2014, this was the southern terminus of Interstate 164, a spur of I-64 connecting the mainline highway to Evansville. I-164 has since become part of I-69, and this is, for now, a discontinuation of I-69. The future "NAFTA superhighway" resumes just across the Ohio River in Kentucky.

Robert Orr was governor of Indiana in the 1980s. He is best remembered for telling George H.W. Bush, when Bush asked him about Dan Quayle in 1988, that Quayle was "a fine, fine person." Orr served as U.S. ambassador to Singapore under Bush 41.

Only the part of I-69 that used to be I-164 is named for him. As you can guess, he was from Evansville.

Interstate 69 runs concurrently with Interstate 24 in Kentucky, then ends at the Purchase Parkway intersection in Calvert City. It picks up father south for now.

I'd probably be better off putting it in the pics of beautiful women thread, but here's a gif of Kali Rocha as Dr. Sydney Heron on Grey's Anatomy.

I have to find this episode.

This is the northern terminus of Interstate 69 in Tennessee on the outskirts of Memphis. It is still unsigned.

Here's the southern terminus of Interstate 69 in Tennessee - signed - as it crosses into Mississippi. A state lawmaker in Tennessee tried to make it a crime for to be involved in any highway that would facilitate trade among the NAFTA countries. It failed.
