US 2 in Michigan's Upper Peninsula is a beautiful drive with gorgeous views of Lake Michigan. We travel that road when we go to visit my sister in Wisconsin. Going the Southern route around Chicago is nerve wracking and we prefer the northern route which takes about an hour longer but is much more relaxing and scenic.
