Exclamation Lent 2017

What will you sacrifice for 40+ days between Ash Wednesday and Easter Sunday?

I would like to try either the Feingold Diet or the Kosher Diet this Lent. I may also NOT drink alcohol at this time...hey...I'm trying....

I'm giving up Adult Beverages for Lent.

The Money I save will be used to buy Christmas Presents for needy children. :wreath:

I am giving up logging onto Facebook (I am addicted to that site), and I am also giving up eating too much and sticking to a sensible diet.

I wasn't able to get my ashes today due to my work schedule. I wasn't near any Catholic Churches at the right time!!!

I'm not sure what I will give up for Lent? There are a few things I really should!

Cool

On the lighter side I'm going to try to be as meatless as possible. The are going to be some exceptions. I'm at the mercy of the soup kitchens I go to. I eat five lunches on weekdays. I also have a supper on Sunday (Lent takes a Day Off Sunday - NO, I will not consume any "Adult Beverages" on Sundays even though I could). But that means there will be at least two meatless meals on these days and a Meatless Saturday. Two days will occur this month where I will eat meat, March 4 and March 17. The former is the 21st Anniversary of my Father passing away. On this day I will break out a Rib Roast in memory of him. and on the latter I just HAVE to eat Corned Beef on St. Patty's Day. I will not go to the Soup Kitchens on these days until the leftovers are consumed.
