Didn't they make some kind of reference to Halloween 4, something in her office? It's been so long since I've seen H20.

No, I don't believe so. According to H20 Michael wasn't seen or heard of in 20 years, thus discontinuing everything from 4-6.

Too bad they did that. I like part 4, part 5 is good, despite the two silly cops and the goofy music that accompanies them. Part 6 the producer's cut is pretty good. Mainly the reveal of who the booted man from the end of part 5 is a letdown.
I think Jamie Lloyd is a great character, and I like seeing Loomis trying to protect her.

Halloween Reboot Will Ignore the Sequels, Says John Carpenter
by Clark Collis
Oct. 10, 2017

As diehard fans of the Halloween franchise will be aware, Jamie Lee Curtis’ Laurie Strode was finally murdered by Michael Myers in 2002’s Halloween: Resurrection.

So, it came as a surprise — albeit a widely welcomed one — when it was recently revealed that Curtis would appear in next year’s reboot of the slasher series, which is being directed by David Gordon Green and written by Green and Danny McBride.

Now, filmmaker John Carpenter, who directed and co-wrote the original 1978 Halloween and is an executive producer on the new film, has shed some light on the situation in an interview with Stereogum.

Her part was written into the script and they had this idea — it’s kind of a… I don’t know how to describe it. It’s almost an alternative reality,” says Carpenter. “It picks up after the first one and it pretends that none of the other sequels were made. It’s gonna be fun. There’s a really talented director and it was well-written. I’m impressed.

Carpenter also confirmed that he might contribute to the new film’s soundtrack. “I may do the music for the new Halloween movie,” said the filmmaker, who wrote the iconic score for the original Halloween. “That would be pretty easy to do.

The new Halloween film is set for release Oct. 19, 2018.

The filmmaker who is king of things that go bump in the night is a musical master of horror as well.

Lee Cowan talks with director-composer John Carpenter, whose next film is a "real" sequel to his classic 1978 horror film Halloween, with returning star Jamie Lee Curtis.

I also just saw where he sees this as the "final" sequel to the series (though considering he feels everything after the first film didn't happen, I guess this also means he sees it as the "only" sequel! )

Hoping it's good...preparing for the worst.

Jamie Lee Curtis Says New Halloween Film "is Terrifying"
by Clark Collis
Feb. 20, 2018

Jamie Lee Curtis has written an Instagram update on the progress of the new Halloween movie, in which she declares this latest entry of the iconic slasher series to be “terrifying.

Wrapping things up here in Haddonfield,” writes Curtis, who is reprising the role of the much-tormented Laurie Strode in the movie. “Three generations of strong, striped, Strode women. These two @missjudygreer @andimatichak brought it ALL to their work on this terrifying revisit of @halloweenmovie.

Judy Greer and Andi Matichak play Laurie Strode’s daughter and granddaughter in the as-yet-untitled film.

I didn't realize until I saw the poster again, the new Myers' mask looks very similar to Rob Zombie's version w/ its "dirty" look.
