Martin Luther King’s birth name was Michael, not Martin.
The civil rights leader was born Michael King Jr. on January 15, 1929. In 1934, however, his father, a pastor at Atlanta’s Ebenezer Baptist Church, traveled to Germany and became inspired by the Protestant Reformation leader Martin Luther. As a result, King Sr. changed his own name as well as that of his 5-year-old son's name to Martin.

In 1967 John Lennon received a fan letter from a student at Quarry Bank High School whose English teacher had been making the class analyze Beatles lyrics. Lennon responded by writing the most confusing, nonsensical lyrics he could think of-and released them as the song "I Am The Walrus".

Those of us who are older probably already know this;

Liberal talk show host Phil Donahue, and conservative talk show host Morton Downey Jr. were guests on each other's talk shows. In response to a previous incident where a man yelled at Donahue and Marlo Thomas, claiming they ought to be murdered, Downey insisted that Donahue should've punched the man right in the nose.

Most prisons worldwide ban bones from the food inmates eat. All meat/fish products are usually breaded, grilled, or fried cutlet.

One reason is to prevent a choking hazard, but the main one is to prevent inmates from using them as weapons.

Did You Know that a European bird, know as the Swift, is renowned for its superb flying ability, lives his life almost entirely in flight. This bird can spend as long as 10 months in the air, including feeding, preening, playing, SLEEPING, and mating, in fact, it only lands to feed its young and roost.
It is able to sleep in flight because only part of its brain sleeps. Amazing!

DYK that . . the Panama Canal is over 100 years old, is 48 miles long, and
operates 24 hours a day. The average time it takes for ships to pass thru is
eight to ten hours, two ships can pass thru at the same time, either going
the same direction or the opposite. You can watch a live feed of the ships
transitioning thru. A private yacht may pay $2000 or less and a large commercial ship up to $450,000. It's still cheaper and less time consuming
then having to sail to the southern tip of South America.

March 19th is St. Joseph's Day...most Italian-Americans and Polish-Americans observe this day as much as St. Patrick's Day or even more so....

Did you know, 80 percent of vanilla flavored food (including the ice cream and essence) is made artificially, because natural vanilla beans are very expensive.
