Icon15 The commies weren't the only ones doing this!

From 1945 to 1962 the Ruskies weren't the only ones eavesdropping on our Nuclear Weapons testing. The Limeys were also spying on us as well! Now I don't know if the Rosenburgs collaborated with the Brits as they did with the Soviets, but as for the members of the Majesty's Secret Service who gathered the information my two top suspects are Agents 005 and 006.

DYK...

While the designs of United States currency have continually been modified and updated over the years, the $1 bill has had the same look since 1963. Its design is the oldest of all bills currently produced.

Cool DYK

... that the Hershey Company makes special chocolate bars exclusively for the U.S. Military?

They are to be used as an emergency food source and are specially made to withstand very high temperatures. They are reported to not taste very good as they are meant to be high in energy and not as a tempting treat.

DYK that . . Vatican City is the smallest country in the world. Encircled by a 2-mile border with Italy, Vatican City is an independent city-state that covers just over 100 acres, making it one-eighth the size of New York's Central Park. Vatican City is governed as an absolute monarchy with the pope at its head.

DYK that . . the Hurricane Committee of the World Meteorological Organization is in charge of naming the hurricanes, using six alphabetical lists of names.

After a particular deadly or damaging storm, the storm’s name is retired. The committee decides when to take a name out of circulation. Harvey and Irma have been taken out of circulation.

DYK Tropical Storm Allison was the only storm to have its name retired without ever having become a hurricane. The storm struck Houston with devastating rains in 2001.

DYK that . . . in the United States we use 500 million plastic straws every single day! That's an equivalent to 1 garbage truck full every minute. The straws end up polluting our oceans, waterways, and beaches. The plastic is
toxic and our fish are eating it. It's projected that if this trend continues,
by 2050, there will be more plastic than fish, in the ocean! So, they are
asking everyone to avoid using straws or at least try to use less.
