My co-worker just had gallbladder surgery 3 weeks ago, and she is doing and feeling great. Good luck to you and have a speedy recovery.

Cool

Everything went well this morning. Procedure took an hour and a half and I took it well.

I felt very groggy after first waking up, but slept it off for about 2 hours or so and then I was able to walk and go to the bathroom on my own. When nurses saw that they told me, "We're bringing you your discharge papers."

I came home and crashed, but now I'm in intense pain after the anesthesia wore completely off. I was told to take over-the-counter medicine and was prescribed percocet for when it gets really bad. Hard part is over.

Oh, and I finally have that damn drainage bag out!

Sounds like you're on your way to a great recovery, James.

One note of caution: be sure to consume lots of fiber and even use over the counter meds to help facilitate bathroom use, as pain meds often lead to constipation. Not a pretty subject, but an unavoidable one.

Be well!

I'm very happy for you that you came out of the surgery fine James. When I had my surgery I had to stay overnight but I was able to return home the next day and I spent my recovery time watching movies and stuff. I also had to eat lots of soup and toast to help speed my recovery so I wish you the best of luck in your recovery James

P.S. If you want a juice that is good and also very healthy for you drink a glass of Kern's Nectar especially the mango nectar because it is such a healthy drink for stomach problems and be sure to drink a glass every day

That's great that it went well. Wow, you are strong. Going home the same day. That'ts good that they gave you medicine. You will probably help quickly. The best thing is that the chance of getting gal stones again is only 2% since your gal bladder was taken out. It's not impossible, but very unlike for gal stones to form without the gal bladder.

Because of complications and infection I was in the hospital a total of 5 days. the pain was soooo awful. They didn't want to give me pain medicine. I don't ever want that kind of pain again. They did finally give me medicine.

When I had my surgery James all I wanted was to come home and I couldn't sleep in the hospital because they were doing construction on the hospital and every night the workers were making noise. But what the nurses gave me was Italian Ices which I liked and loads of broth and by the time I came home the next day I just sat in the family room and Mom put on a movie for me but then I was so sleepy I just collapsed in bed and slept til midnight and I actually came home for Mother's Day and just having me home made Mom's Mother's Day extra special. I'm very happy you're on the road to recovery James and you are truly one of the bravest people I know that can do anything. I just want to say keep eating healthy food and you'll feel better in no time
Keep up the excellent work James
