So sudden.

My thoughts and prayers are with you MrCleveland. I am so sorry for your loss. 14 years ago I lost my dad suddenly, it is quite a shock.

I am very sorry for your loss and am keeping you in my prayers. I understand how hard it is to lose your mother so young. My mother died at the age of 61 nearly twelve years ago from cancer.

Were there any warning signs?

I am very sorry about your mother's death. My payers and thoughts are with you at this time.

As I may have posted at this Website before, my mom died from lung cancer in November 1999.

In a way...there was...she had sleep apnea and swelling in some parts of her body.

She didn't see a doctor, she should...but there's a split chance she could've went...at least she didn't have to have long-suffering.

But my dad...as what Jesus said in Luke 22:42...

"Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done."

... he's the one who's suffering the most. If he goes sooner than later...I wouldn't blame him...

...he won't do what Robin Williams did...but I still ask...do believers in Jesus who commit suicide enter the Pearly Gates?

Forgive me, I know I am just some random poster that you are unfamiliar with but I believe He knows our hearts and our struggles and of course would let those who are suffering like that in the gates of heaven right away.

My condolences to you and your father once again. I am so sorry you are going through this excruciating loss. I wish I had some appropriate words of consolation for you.

Thanks a million...

... because I do know that no one except Jesus came to earth with a sin/vice.

This Amy Grant song says it all...

Thanks a million back...that song made me tear up. Thanks for sharing it with us. He will lift all our burdens if we let Him.

God Bless.

Sleep apnea is a good sign of something wrong.

In reference to Robin Williams, I read that he suffered from dementia, so that was apparently a big factor in his decision to take his life.

My friend and I had a discussion last week about suicide and eternal life. I often think of what one notable Bible scholar said about thirty years ago, that since the natural instinct of humans was that toward self-preservation, suicide was a sign of what he designated as mental illness, because it went against that instinct. I think God understands deeply the problem of bereavement and feelings of despair in this situation, it's not necessarily a decision made of stable thoughts and proper perspective. We have very emotionally taxing thoughts at the face of death.

I waited a month after my mother's death to unleash my deep pain, rage and frustration with God. I erupted at him with a torrent of obscenities for fifteen to twenty minutes one night until I told him I meant none of it. One mentoring friend, a female member in the ministry in the Foursquare denomination, told me earlier that I was going to experience natural feelings of anger at God for taking my mother. I didn't believe it until it happened.

I also knew two people at my church who were God-fearing people...and killed themselves.

One sang in the church choir and was blind...the other probably had some disorder.

My dad is angry at the world now and I won't doubt he'll reach 60 and go... I think of the couple who were married for 70+ years, were God-fearing people, lived 100+ years, and once his wife died...he was around for a few hours and...God reunited him with his wife....
