LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Forest Whitaker has played his share of moody and menacing characters over the course of his career, from jazzman Charlie Parker in "Bird," to the hit man in "Ghost Dog," to a thief terrorizing Jodie Foster in "Panic Room." Now, Whitaker will bring his gravity to UPN's new version of "The Twilight Zone," where he'll serve as host of the anthology series, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Whitaker will introduce episodes of the series, based on the classic show created by Rod Serling, who also did the creepy, flat-toned narration for each installment. The new "Twilight Zone," from writer-producer Pen Densham ("The Outer Limits") will rely on fresh material rather than remaking old episodes. Whitaker signed a development deal with CBS last year; his work on "Twilight Zone" likely falls under that agreement since CBS now oversees operations on UPN. Both networks are owned by Viacom. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.geocities.com/tmc_132000/...Meets_CBS.html http://www.geocities.com/tmc_132000/..._Hospital.html http://www.geocities.com/tmc_132000/...dventures.html http://www.geocities.com/tmc_132000/...ends_Game.html http://www.geocities.com/tmc_132000/..._to_Worse.html http://www.geocities.com/tmc_132000/..._Bar_Site.html http://www.geocities.com/tmc_6882/Bookworm.html<a href="http://www.gwgs.co.uk"><img src="http://www.gwgs.co.uk/i/gwgebanner.jpg" border="0"></a>

In other casting news, John Ducey ("Oh Grow Up") has joined the cast of ABC's comedy pilot "Sun Gods." |
