![]() With the pressure of PC and Christopher Columbus NOT setting foot on the American soil... should we still call it Columbus Day? Or have all voyagers be included and have it be Discoverers Day? Or since we should be more PC, have it be called Indigenous People's Day? Or since Government Buildings are closed...why not let it be National Bosses Day? Or make it a Monday we have off?
I have a poll for this...

![]() Columbus Day has been celebrated for 200 years or more, on at least three continents. Politicians in the US saw many Italian immigrants celebrating, and decided to try to buy their votes by making the day a national holiday in 1937. Today, many of the politicians occupying the exact same offices have decided that Italians don't count anymore, and they can buy more votes by pretending they hate Columbus. There's no reason why this specific date is important to anyone else. It will only be changed to make it difficult for people whose families have celebrated Columbus for generations. They'll eventually switch it, then again and again. The goal is to make trouble, then pretend to be friends with one side. That's what politicians do.
