What is the most beautiful song you've ever heard? I mean in terms of lyrics, tune, and the meaning of the song.
One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard was "Wind Beneath My Wings" by Bette Midler. I love that song. I cry when I hear it. Another song that I think is exceptionally beautiful is "Underneath your Clothes" by Shakira beacuse of the 'hidden' meaning to the song and just the way it is sung. What about you guys? |

Its not the most beautiful but I like "Cry" by Mandy Moore. I also like Sing Music Sing by Allison Fonte on NMMC but no ones heard that more than likely.

I agree with Jeff..."Cry" by Mandy Moore is awesome. I also LUV "Your Song"...it is originally by Elton John...but I like the version by Ewan McGregor...from Moulin Rouge. I also luv Come What May by Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor from Moulin Rouge...so...yea...lol. I also think that Don't Let Me Get Me, Lonely Girl, and Family Portrait by Pink are all really good ones.

I'm incapable of answering these knds of questions without qualifying my answer by first stateing that it's impossible for me to choose the "most, best , worst" of anything. And now, one good sample of a song that puts me into a state of bliss and utter transfixation: "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" from "Avida". Both the movie version, with Madonna singing, and the stage play, which, If life treated me better, I would have seen but I've had to settle for watching and hearing it on PBS. I don't know the singers name who was on the stage, but knowing that even one human being can sing like her, makes earth seem like a planet with some real promise.

Definitely "Don't Cry, Joanie" by Conway Twitty! Yeah, it's sad, but it's really nice and touching.

"One More Day" by Diamond Rio
"I'm Already There" by Lonestar "The Last Song" by Elton John "He's My Son" I don't know the singer's name, but this song just sends chills up my spine. It's about a man praying to God to let him take the place of his critically-ill son. "Fire and Rain" by James Taylor |

If I was seven years old, I'd tell you it is "Dreams to Dream" by Linda Ronstadt. From the "Fivel Goes West" soundtrack. I used to cry everytime I'd hear it.
Now, I'd have to say a beautiful song would be this song called "Motorcycle Emptiness" by a band called the Manic Street Preachers. It's got the soaring guitars and the atmospheric feel to it. (Mossopp may know what I'm talking about...). Call me cheesy, but I was just listening to "Ordinary World" by Duran Duran on Winamp, and that song is actually quite nice.... ![]() Last edited by Cokies : 03-28-2002 at 01:33 AM. |

I love the song Superman by Five for Fighting, because I love instrumental things, and I also love Amazed by Lonestar. Those two songs are beautiful!! My boyfriend hates that mushy stuff, but he doesn't have much of a say. Also, My Sacrifice by Creed.

OMG, Kristen! That is such a powerful song...the artist's name is Mark Schultz. I usually don't listen to the Christian station, but sometimes I'll check it out, and one day I heard this on the way to my (then) summer job a couple of years ago.I knew right then and there I had to get whatever album that was on---and I'm usually not that affected right away by 1 song. That's from Mark's debut album (self-titled), and he released his 2nd one last fall. Kristen, this man is amazing---just wait till you read the liner notes. And he writes all of his songs (except for one which was a cover). And "He's My Son" is indeed a true story---he got a lot of his song inspiration and tales from bein' a Youth Minister at a church before he landed his record deal. I strongly encourage you to get his album, it is well-worth it! ![]() Byron |

Thanks, Byron
I was trying to find out who sung that song, but I could never figure out who it was. I'll have to look for Mark's CD next time I'm at the store. It is a beautiful song. |
