Default Joey spin off selected

from: zap2it.com 3/20/02

Friends favorite Joey Tribiani is set to become a permanent fixture on TV screens - if plans for a Frasier- style spin-off series are approved. The lovable bungling lothario, played by heart-throb Matt LeBlanc, will be "definitely less dumb" and will be living in Los Angeles, continuing to try and make it as an actor. LeBlanc, 34, is said to be extremely excited about the project, if it should come together when Friends finishes. According to Britain's The Mirror newspaper, a source says, "He gets a job in a Dynasty series as the playboy son but it's cancelled after the first episode." This would not be LeBlanc's first spin-off. He and Joseph Bologna headed the cast of a short-lived Married... With Children spin-off called Top Of The Heap.

I dunno how dumb they are, but think of shows such as Inside Schwartz and Watching Ellie ... It's possible.
And if they poke it while he's hot... there'll be a Friends VOID, ppl will miss the show..they might make something out of it.

Actually, of all the spinoff rumors I've heard, this one sounds like ti might work.
I do like the idea of Joey going out to L.A. but instead of the show being cancelled, why not have it be a hit. I think it would be interesting to do a 'workplace" sitcom with a prime time soap as the setting. Plus, a good showbiz satire would be a welcome surprise.

I dunno...I think Rachel's character would be the best to spin off. We'll see what happens. I think It'd be a hit if the show was in the same time slot as Friends.

Normally I wouldn't agree that a Rachel spin off would be best but with the current Friends storyline I think it would be. We could watch Rachel experience being a mother and how she raises her daughter. I would definitely watch a show like that.

what a dumb idea. It won't work because the other 'friends' won't bet there. Think about it

Actually what someone said a few posts earlier is right, about it not working because of the absence of the other Friends. One of the best, if not the best thing about Friends is the chemistry between the cast. It just works beautifully.

But they won't be guest starring on it constantly!! The show has to have a life revolving around Joey and not making the other friends be there always. Isn't that the whold point of a Joey Spin-off?

More then likely "Friends" will end after next season.
I think the cast wants to move on and there is no way NBC will give them another raise!
