Hm... I find it weird that so many brunettes dye their hair blonde. Of course, it is not a new phenomenon (Marilyn Monroe did it already back in the '50s). But I never did it, because I want to keep my natural dark brown hair color. It would be different if it was turning grey, but it seems like that hasn't started yet.

I used to use summer blonde on my hair when I was a teen. I've also dyed it reddish brown, light brown and frosted it with a white gold color. Having it frosted was a trip, they put this plastic wrap on your head & pull pieces of hair through it to frost it. I don't dye it anymore, it's too much trouble since my hair grows so fast. My natural hair color is medium brown.

Well if my hair was dark brown or black and I had dark eyes I probably wouldn't ! But my natural hair is light to very medium brown, and I have light eye color! So I just went for it Oh years ago, and liked it,and got SO many compliments on it! ! With my skin tone and eye color it looks like I could be a natural blonde.!

I just had my hair colored. In January I had a foil done with blond hi lights. Had it cut again this summer and the hi lights were still there. I thought I would get the brown hair a lighter blond like a whitish blond. But the gal said I could get it like a walnut blond so I have that. It has been a few days now and NO ONE has noticed. Hmm. I don't how people get a good blond out a box. Do you use several boxes with bleach or peroxide? The goo the hairdresser used didn't smell bad at all.

Me neither. Old footage of Bill Clinton's bad dye jobs made me realize I should swear off it. Plus, everybody that I've encountered has seen me going grey. If I suddenly started to walk into one store or another and they see me with black hair or dark brown, the first thing they're going to think is "who does this moron think he's fooling?"

To all the men here: A middle aged or older man with salt & pepper hair ,heck even full grey or white is sexy! My Husband is salt & pepper and he doesn't seem to care or have any plans to dye it! I'm glad! I say stay natural! It is different with women, because we color our hair just for the fun of it from a young age! Even a noticeable dye job isn't really funny on a woman because of the reason I just said! On a man it is funny and it looks like he's trying to look younger! So, keep the natural grey or white ! Hey, you know what they say :

"When there is snow on the roof, there is a fire in the furnace "!

I started with blonde highlights at 18. It's been strawberry blonde to soft black. Now that I have more gray, I am sticking to lighter browns with highlights until I'm too old to deal with coloring.

Oh, that sounds interesting! I suppose that it looked very cool!
My natural colour is brown too, a rather dark one but I always liked to change it, the most of all I still like such unusual and bright colours like on these pics from MachoHairstyles, they look so cool! For example, I had such bright purple on my head and it was really amazing, I think that I'll make it again in the future

The only thing which I don't like about these colours that I can't get such bright shade as I want without previous bleaching and it causes so much damage for the hair... So I can't make such experiments on my head so often as I want

No, but I used to dye my hair blonde, which was a pain in the behind! My natural hair is a very dark brown, and since my hair is both long and thick, dyeing is a chore, so I quit coloring my hair several years ago.

My hair is starting to look a little blond. Maybe as I get older there is gray involved and it tints my normal brown hair a bit lighter. I agree coloring it as one get older can get harder to do, specially if you do it all yourself.
