Have you seen Richard Hatch's first film Best Friends (1975)? Hatch plays a Vietnam vet who travels with his friend who is also a vet and their girlfriends cross country in an RV, but the friend has come back changed, and as the film progresses things get darker and darker.

It's included in the Drive-In Cult Classics 8 Movie Collection Vol. 1 DVD set. A great collection of 1970's exploitation flicks.

And brown hair parted in the middle about that length brings back memories for me. I had a boyfriend, almost was going to marry him that looked like the singer Jackson Browne , hair and eyes very similar !

Jonathan Frakes as Ashley Longworth Jr. on The Waltons. He was SO handsome in that Navy dress uniform!

Yes, he was on 2 episodes playing Ashley. The first one was a really sweet sad episode. He came to visit Miss Emily to giver her a letter that his father had written to her. When she sees Ashley Jr. she gets confused and thinks he is her long lost love. Ashley and Erin fall in love. Emily thinks she's a young girl again and monopolizes all of Ashley's time. One day she sees him kissing Erin and freaks out.(so to speak) Then she finally comes around and accepts Ashley as the son. Ashley gives her his father's (who had died) letter and she goes off to read it. The show ends there. So sad

I hope you get to see the episode sometime Bonnie. It's one of my favorites!

Then in one of the 90's TV reunion movies they totally ignore that episode, and Emily acts the same as she did before that episode. One of the reasons I'm not a big fan of those TV movies they made in the 90's. All of the awful continuities.

Those reunion episodes were so full of errors and inconsistencies. They were supposed to have gone into the 1960's. Well, Grandma and the Baldwin sisters should have been dead by then. Also in these movies John Curtis is not even mentioned. Back in the 80's a Waltons movie was made in which MaryEllen was in a dilemma about marrying Jonesy because she couldn't have anymore children. Then miraculously in a 90's reunion she and Jonsey had 3 children! But John Curtis is no where to be seen! And in another movie Ben and Cindy's daughter had died (no explanation) and the son that they had in the last season of the Waltons is not mentioned. In that movie Cindy is depressed because she hasn't any children. I cannot understand why Earl Hamner approved of these stupid scripts!

Oh yes. I have seen that ep. I just wasn't aware that the actor playing Ashley was Jonathan Frakes!

It wasn't with Ashley. But I remember a really good ep. where Erin is eloping in the middle of the night. They go to the Justice of the Peace's house and wake him and his wife up. ( LOL The wife's hair is in curlers)! It was so funny. I forget exactly how things happened , but of course they didn't end up getting married!

Could it have been him? This boyfriend was really cute too! Erin had better looking men than Mary Ellen did IMO!
