Default Which new fall 2013 sitcom will be cancelled first?

With the new fall season close to a month away, a popular game among TV fans and critics is trying to predict which new show will be the first to get cancelled and go down as one of the biggest flops of all time. From some of the previews that I've seen, read, and heard about, it looks like this upcoming season will have plenty of candidates. Here are the new sitcoms that will debut in September on the major networks:

ABC: The Goldbergs,Trophy Wife, Back in the Game, Super Fun Night

CBS: We Are Men, Mom,The Millers, The Crazy Ones

NBC: Welcome to the Family, Sean Saves The World,The Michael J. Fox Show

FOX: Dads, Brooklyn Nine-Nine

There are many shows in this group that would surprise me if they lasted for more than a couple of months but if you're looking for a real loser, this year's "Cavemen", I choose "Super Fun Night". It might be fun for one night but after that the party's over. This show just looks horrible!!!

First new sitcom for 2013-14 to be cancelled, huh? I pick We are Men from CBS as the first sitcom cancellation of the season, then Mike & Molly can take its Mondays @ 8:30 timeslot.

Considering the junk they come out with....I hold little hope for any of them But I hope The Crazy Ones with Robin Williams works out. If he is given a fee hand, they'll have a hit, he is a comic genius.

Television antennas are popping up outside homes across America as viewers cancel cable and satellite service due to the current TV programming. They are tired of paying for umpteen channels that they never watch and the over abundance of Reality TV and immorality.

Let's break these down:

The Goldbergs - ABC seems to be pushing this as their centerpiece comedy this season, so I don't see them giving up on it too easily. It has a potentially great timeslot if SHIELD is the big hit it's expected to be, and it seems to be getting decent reception. It should be fine, at least at first.

Trophy Wife - This has also been getting good reception, but it's in a riskier timeslot and seems less marketable than Goldbergs. Could be at risk, but I think it'll be alright at first.

Back in the Game - Reception has been a bit mixed, but it's in a cushy timeslot in between The Middle and Modern Family and seems to be a good tonal fit with those shows. If super polarizing The Neighbors could thrive there, then this should be okay.

Super Fun Night - Reviews of this have been awful, but how much could a post-Modern Family show fail? At worst it'll do well out of the gate, fall dramatically, get moved to a crappy timeslot and then get axed. But I think ABC will retool this and work with it as much as they can, because they seem to really want it to work.

We Are Men - Many are calling this one of the worst new shows of the season, and it's in the spot where Partners died quickly last year. I think this is a pretty good candidate for first cancellation.

Mom - Chuck Lorre + cushy timeslot + Anna Faris = big hit, or at least a solid one. No way this goes first.

The Millers - Reception to this has been pretty bad, but again, great timeslot with a good cast. Granted, How to Be a Gentleman died here, but I think CBS will push harder with this one.

The Crazy Ones - Robin Williams' big TV return should get tons of viewers out of the gate. It'll have to be good to sustain them, but it should have no trouble at first.

Welcome to the Family - Bad reviews, and its lead-in is marginal Parks & Rec facing Big Bang Theory. This may very well go first. It almost seems set up to fail.

Sean Saves the World - NBC is pushing this pretty hard, and it seems marketable enough. The timeslot isn't great and neither is the critical reception, but I think they're going to try hard to make it work.

The Michael J. Fox Show - Weird, weird timeslot...but again, Michael J. Fox should be enough to get a lot of people to watch it at first, so this should be here to stay for at least a little while.

Dads - This has been utterly panned, and the timeslot is rough. MacFarlane's name could be enough to get it some early viewers...but I don't think it will be. I see this tanking, but I think FOX will be too proud to admit it and it'll stick around for longer than it should.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine - Perhaps the best reviewed new comedy of the season, but it's in a very rough timeslot, and I'm not sure it's a broad appeal show. Nevertheless, critical acclaim and a marketable lead should save it for a while.

Sooo in conclusion...We Are Men and Welcome to the Family seem like the safest bets to me. Critical reception has been bad for both, and marketing-wise they're being overshadowed by some of bigger-name new sitcoms on their respective networks. I'm going to go ahead and say Welcome to the Family gets its first, because I think it's probably going to totally tank upon landing, and NBC has more on the bench than CBS.

Dads will be the first overall sitcom cancelled and Raising Hope will end up back on Tuesdays.
first on ABC: Trophy Wife, how generic
first on CBS: We Are Men (surely you had better offers Monk?)
first on NBC: I'd like it to be Sean Saves the World but Welcome to the Family will probably go first.

These two new FOX sitcoms will get axed ahead of time: "Dads" and "Enlisted"!

Move "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" to Friday nights with that horrible "Raising Hope"!

Enlisted isn't premiering until November, so it's almost impossible for it to be the first sitcom cancelled unless every other one winds up being a hit...

At the moment I can of 'Dads' as being cancelled very quick, premise feels tired and Seth Green is already commited to Family Guy that I don't see him putting as much effort into this one.

It's like "hell if this bombs I always have Family Guy to fall back on".

Dads or We Are Men

Dads might have the edge with its early premiere and the fact that Raising Hope can fill in pretty quickly

You know this for a fact?

As already stated, Enlisted doesn't premiere until November so it's most likely not going to be the first one gone. Also, you think the CBS Thursday sitcoms are going to be cancelled before We are Men? Doubtful with how much they want Thurs to work, especially The Crazy Ones

FOX has been known to take a chance on sitcoms. Remember Ben and Kate was given a whole season before it finally was put out of its misery. FOX may give Dads a chance. Plus, the recent publicity regarding the Asian representation may help it too, negative as it may be!!

I believe CBS will be the fist to cancel a sitcom as they do not mess around! My guess: We Are Men.
