Question Valerie Harper's Post-"Valerie"/"Hogan Family" Career

Does anybody else think that the whole controversy/mess behind Valerie's departure actually have a negative effect on her career (at least on the short term):

I can't believe no one has mentioned Valerie Harper. All that EST crap ruined her and her career. After the "Valerie" stupidity she has worked, but nothing worth notice.

It may have to some degree, but for a very short time. She was awarded millions for being wrongfully fired. Vindication is so sweet.

I just can't picture Valerie as anybody but Rhoda. She was lucky to get a shot again at sitcom stardom with "Valerie" and she blew it by trying to hold out for more money. But if I were a casting agent in Hollywood, I can't deny I would have practiced typecasting against her. She's Rhoda, no one else. She was just so good in that role and when I hear Valerie speak in her normal voice, it sounds odd. I expect her to speak in her Rhoda accent.
